With many teams starting training camp this week, fans and players alike are excited about the start of another tremendous NFL season. 32 fan bases will eagerly follow their squad’s ups and downs this season, all with the hope of witnessing their favorite team hoist the Lombardi trophy in Arizona come February.

As exciting as a championship prospect may be, we look to capture this excitement by providing you with a list of the Snkrs Day All-22, a positional breakdown of the top sneakerheads in the NFL.

Today, we detail the biggest sneakerheads on the offensive side of the ball.

What Allen Iverson was to the NBA, some may argue that Michael Vick is similar with regards to his impact on the NFL. From kids wanting to don the number 7 across their jerseys to rocking the cornrows under their helmets, Vick is pivotal in the evolution of the quarterback position. With this in mind, it was only right to have Vick at the helm of our All-22 Team, and his collection doesn’t disappoint.

A huge highlight of his sneaker rotation are the various colorways of his Nike Zoom Vick line, that has been the focus of many retro rumors as of late. In addition, Vick showcases plenty of retro Air Jordans, LeBrons and Nike Sportswear kicks.

With Vick becoming a new addition to the New York Jets, it’ll be interesting to see if some Nike Zoom Vick’s get the “Gang Green” inspired color treatment that he could rock on Sunday afternoons in MetLife stadium.

There’s something to be said about being only 5’6 and 196 pounds while arguably playing the most physical position on the field. Running back Jacquizz Rodgers proves plenty of people wrong courtesy of his thorough production down in the Dirty South. However, while many of you may just now be hearing about Jacquizz, his kick game has him rubbing elbows with some of the highest profile players in the league.

All in all, “Quizz” has some of the best heat we’ve seen in some time. Considering the diversity of his collection, that includes a variety of LeBrons, Air Jordans, KDs, and Nike trainers, Jacquizz deters from the trend of athletes in high-fashion sneakers. Ultimately, his depth of kicks definitely gives him the ability to never wear the same thing twice.

It’ll be interesting to see how his collection grows as his career progresses, but it seems as though the four years he spent in Corvallis, near the institution that is Nike, have rubbed off on him quite a bit.

Our very own George Kiel vouched for the inclusion of Earl Bennett within our All-22 list, and to be frank, he was spot on. This former Vanderbilt product snagged passes for the Chicago Bears last season, and recently signed a free agent contract with the Cleveland Browns. Despite the unfortunate circumstances that leaves Bennett a free agent at the moment, his role on the All-22 Team is more than secure.

When viewing Bennett’s collection, two things come to mind: quality and consistency. While he may not flaunt the gems within his collection, you understand that there is an abundance therein. Whether he’s rocking the “What The Kobe” 8s around Christmas or bringing out a pair of UK LeBron 7s, Bennett surely knows how to turn a lot of heads.

Bennett is also not afraid of stepping outside of the box, showcasing a pair of the Li-Ning Way of Wade 2 “Ring Night” that incorporates a gold hue with purple accents. Subsequently, he provides a bit of uniqueness on our team, as he remains the only player to rock the Way of Wade 2s. Hopefully, Bennett can catch on somewhere this season, no pun intended, and remain the solid third-down threat that he has been his entire career. With this in mind, good luck, Earl.

Whether he’s running a critical seam route through the heart of a defense or touring the world with KITH captain Ronnie Fieg, Victor Cruz may be the most interesting man in the NFL. While he definitely ventures away from the “norm” of most NFL players, Cruz tends to rely on a certain aesthetic that usually keeps his roots stable, and those roots are grounded in sneakers. Potentially the highest-profiled player within our All-22 Team, Cruz has become a New York fixture, as his consistent and valuable play has made him a fan-favorite across the boroughs.

As for his kicks, Cruz utilizes his many connections to showcase a broad array of heat. With the likes of retro Air Jordans gracing his collection, Air Yeezys and Ricardo Tisci AF1s, Cruz understands how to turn some heads. As highlighted within this GQ interview, Cruz counts the White/Cement Air Jordan 3 as one of his go-to essentials. While his Nike contract prohibits him from venturing too far into the sneaker stratosphere, Cruz continues to dominate on and off the field.

While the era of “Diva” wide receivers may be a thing of the past, young stars like A.J. Green keep fans in awe of their ever-present skills by showing rather than telling. With just three seasons of NFL experience, Green has already been selected to three Pro Bowls, two NFL All-Pro teams, and he has eclipsed the 1,000 yard mark in each of his first three seasons. Recently, his peers voted him the second best wide receiver in the league during the annual NFL Top 100 countdown on the NFL Network.

While Green may be reserved in remarks about his game, his sneaker collection makes boisterous claims of supremacy within his position. With a variety of high-fashion pieces coupled with a solid count of rare retro Air Jordans, his versatility provides a unique aesthetic to his off-the-field look. Some notable sneakers that exist within Green’s rotation include a pristine pair of “Doernbecher” 6s, “Red October” Nike Air Yeezy 2s and a pair of Nike Air Yeezys by JBF Customs, just to name a few.

As noted within this ESPN E:60 short, Green gives us a look into collection that represents approximately half of his entire selection of kicks.

Whether you find him quirky, eccentric, or any other adjectives that would denote nontraditional NFL players, Martellus Bennett would more than likely fit the description. Better known as ‘Marty B’ to those familiar with his time in Dallas, Bennett has proven to be a solid pass catching tight end for the Chicago Bears. Bennett helped assist the Bears’ aerial attack with 65 catches and 759 receiving yards this past season.

While his on-the-field prowess gets him exposure on ESPN, his sneaker selection makes him poised to be the tight end on our All-22 Team. Bennett has been known to rock a variety of sneakers, ranging from Ewings to Ricardo Tisci AF1s and some other gems, as seen below.

It’s evident that Bennett seems to be a huge fan of the culture, as previous stints interning for the popular street wear brand Young & Reckless have been documented in hilarious video shorts. Going forward, it’ll be interesting to see how the culture of Chicago may change Bennett.

The notion that big men are not well-versed in sneakers should be null and void after witnessing the stylings of one Duane Brown. This former Virginia Tech Hokie and now Houston Texan exudes every trait of a quality sneaker head. This makes him an undeniable choice for offensive tackle on our All-22 Team. Brown’s collection consists of various LeBron models (King James happens to be one of his favorite players) along with retro Air Jordans and various staples from the Nike Basketball line.

With Brown wearing a size 17 shoe, sneaker finding can be rather difficult for him, as he explained to our George Kiel during My 5 Live, back in August of 2013, check it out here.

Besides the Matthews clan, the Long family seems to be primed to be THE family in the NFL. Howie Long anchored the Raiders’ defense during the ’70s and ’80s, later providing the NFL with two sons that are among the best in the league at their respective positions. The Long’s are building a solid lineage. However, one Long in particular makes our All-22 by anchoring the guard position of sneakerheads, and that is Kyle Long of the Chicago Bears.

For starters, Long took in a celebratory first pitch in the “Oregon” 5s that many of the former Ducks have sported, while also showing off his “Bugs Bunny” Air Jordan 8s during karaoke with fellow teammates. Despite his obvious love of Air Jordans, Long shows love to the new legends by rocking a crisp pair of LeBron 11 “Everglades” during a youth football camp.

Kyle Long may ultimately be the most unexpected member of our All-22 series, but his stellar play this past season, in addition to his kick game being amongst the best in his position, has created some solid credibility. Hopefully he can follow up with another Pro-Bowl season and continue to anchor the Bears’ offensive line.

It’s one thing to have a twin, it’s another for you and your twin to both play college football together. It’s a whole other feat when you and your twin are considered two of the best interior lineman in the NFL. Mike and Maurkice Pouncey have both solidified themselves as prominent focal points within their respective offensive lines. And while they both may share similar interests, only one center can be chosen for our roster, and that is Maurkice.

The Pittsburgh center’s season was cut short last year due to a knee injury, but this Florida native has seemingly taken on some Pittsburgh pride by repping Aliquippa’s own Darrelle Revis in the Nike Zoom Revis, as seen below. Pouncey also incorporates various Nike trainers into his workout regimen, while donning rare Air Jordans during nights out on the town.

Though the center position lacked some competition, it’s fitting that the two bothers are vouching for the spot on our All-22 roster. It’ll be interesting to see if Mike subsequently supplants Maurkice in the near future.

Last year’s preseason wasn’t too kind to this talented guard from North Carolina, as many witnessed his rookie campaign cut short due to a broken leg. While he may not have been able to showcases his skills on the field, his sneaker game has caught the eye of many outside of the NFL. Cooper completes our interior offensive line, as his obvious love for retro Air Jordans can been witnessed across his social media.

As noted in January of this year, Cooper showcased a pair of Air Jordan 12 cleats on Twitter, stating: “I definitely need these in my life for next season,” and we admit those cardinal Air Jordan 12 cleats would be incredible to see, especially from someone that doesn’t handle most of their work outside of the numbers. Cooper even rocked a crisp pair of Air Jordan 4s while he was in a walking boot, so we suppose some individuals are truly dedicated to the game.

Here’s to a healthy “first” season, Cooper!

Jermon Bushrod is a capable seven-year offensive tackle from the small college of Towson. This former Super Bowl champion started his career with the New Orleans Saints, but ventured toward new endeavors in 2013, as he inked a lucrative five-year contract with the Chicago Bears. With the addition of Bushrod, the Chicago Bears are represented well within our All-22 list.

Bushrod’s collection consists of a large variety of kicks, but mostly revolves around retro Air Jordans. As seen on his Instagram account, Bushrod documents some of his favorite kicks, such as the “Cigar” and “Champagne” Air Jordan 6s, along with several hues of Nike Foamposites and Nike Trainers in the mix.
