Staff Picks hits the halfway point of July with a wide variety of sneaker stories. Multiple adidas Y-3 silhouettes dominate the office in both high and low cuts, while unveiled Vans and ASICS collabs add some color to the lineup. Premium materials are also a trend this time around with a collaborative Air Jordan 1 and Nike SB Dunk Low. Click through the slideshow to see all of the Snkrs Day staff’s favorite sneaker stories of the past week, then record your personal selection in the comment box at the end.

Public School x Air Jordan I “PSNY/NY23”

“I’ve always admired Public School’s aesthetic whenever it comes to garments, but to see their take on the classic Air Jordan I silhouette is very appealing to me. With the incorporation of luxurious materials, it’s interesting to witness Jordan brand venture towards the higher-end footwear market. Many times collaborations can miss their mark, but the work of these two reputable brands definitely provided their friends and family with a great product. Hopefully next year I can score myself a pair of the “NY23” that should be available to the public.” Nike Air Max Lunar90 “Moon Landing”

“That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”

Nike Zoom Flight Uptempo V Black/Gold

“Jason Kidd x Oakland University Golden Grizzlies = All me.”

Bodega x ASICS Gel Lyte V

“It’s Gortex. Do you know about Gortex?”

adidas Y-3 Yohji Boost Black/White

“The adidas Y-3 Yohji Boost Black/White earned the title of my staff pick this week because they are a prime example of where exceptional design intersects phenomenal comfort.”

Nike Air Foamposite One “Gold Cleats” Custom

“The “Dark Neon Royal” Nike Air Foamposite One will forever be my favorite shoe. Playing in them at Kick Roll reconfirmed that, even though recent releases of silo in colorways that looked ‘sweaty’ (copyright: Brett Pickert) had turned me off on the model. Over the last few years, I’ve always really liked what Sole Swap has done with the shoe, more so than retail releases. “Atlantic Blue” and “Mambacurial” makeups are more inline with what I’d want to wear/buy, and these Neymar Jr. joints are just as sharp.”

Quartersnacks x Nike SB Dunk Low

“The Quartersnacks x Nike SB Dunk Low is a really solid using the classic black upper, white midsole and gum outsole combo with a great mix of materials.”

adidas y-3 Hayex High “Blue”

“I’ve always been a fan of Yohji’s designs, more particularly his high-top sneakers. These look very similar to the Y-3 Held model sans mid-foot strap, which is cool because the mid-foot strap may look dope, but it makes the shoe a bit harder to rock.”

New Balance 574 “Neon”

“I like the ’80s sci-fi inspired design, from the bold contrasting colors to the New Balance font. This looks like something straight out of Tron.”

adidas ZX Flux Weave Black/Running White

“My pick this week is the ZX Flux Weave. Every style code of the ZX Flux, to me, has been a knock out of the park, and it will only get better once the miAdidas app launches.” Footpatrol x Nike Air Huarache Light “Concrete”

“These “Concrete” Air Huarache Lights by Footpatrol sold out fast, and for good reason. It’s hard to go wrong with a versatile colorway like the one found on this kick.”

Odd Future x Vans Syndicate Old Skool Pro “S” Pack

“OFWGKTA.”

Staff Picks hits the halfway point of July with a wide variety of sneaker stories.
