Almost a year has passed since the initial launch of Kevin Durant‘s Nike KD VI signature, a model that has carried KD through a phenomenal year. Although the Spurs recently sent the MVP and OKC home, over the past season, we have seen KD’s play elevate to iconic status. With the growth of Durant’s game, the desire for his shoes has followed suit. The Nike KD VI remains a popular pick for casual wearers, and often was also often spotted in our Kicks On Court and College Kicks On Court columns. Drawing inspiration from the craftsmanship of a wristwatch, the Nike KD VI features a low-top cut and oversized branding on the forefoot. After the unofficial unveiling of the Nike KD VII yesterday, we now spotlight KD’s sixth signature before it heads into the Nike vault. Browse the tenure of the KD VI below, and be sure to let us know which non-Elite or EXT colorway is your current favorite in the comment section.

RELATED: Nike KD VI Performance Review | Nike KD VI “Illusion” On-Foot Look

The “Preheat” Nike KD VI colorway kicked off the campaign for Kevin Durant’s first low-top signature shoe. The graphic upper finds inspiration from the lines of a wristwatch, playing to the precision theme and placed over a map of the nation’s capital.

Colorway: Gamma Blue/Dusty Grey-Flash Lime This colorway pays homage to the rec center where a young KD honed his skills. Teal and yellow color blocking represents the rec center’s trademark tones, while “Seat Pleasant’s Finest” appears on the midsole.

Colorway: Sonic Yellow/Mid Navy-Tropical Teal

The Nike KD VI “Meteorology” celebrates young KD’s aspiration to work as a weatherman, tying his meteorological ambitions to locations that shaped his love for basketball.

Colorway: Black/Atomic Red-Medium Olive

The Nike KD VI “NYC 66” pays tribute to Kevin’s 66-point game at the legendary Rucker Park in Harlem, NYC. The Bamboo plant is depended on in many parts of Asia in many different ways, and after four years of delicate care, bamboo undergoes a transformation in its fifth year, which is comparable to Kevin Durant’s growth this past season – his fifth in OKC.

Colorway: Gamma Green/Flash Lime-Linen-Raw Umber

The Nike KD VI “Texas”continues #35’s line of alma mater-inspired makeups, carrying the burnt orange in signature fashion. While previous iterations balanced the school shade with a white base, this installment carries a black base and green glow accents inspired by the state’s starry night skies.

Colorway: Black/Green Glow-Urban Orange

With fond memories of his Aunt Pearl serving up PB&Js when he was a kid in Maryland, KD wanted to pay tribute to one of his favorite foods with a special colorway of his new signature sneaker.

Colorway: Laser Orange/Raspberry Red-Black-Gold Sand

This Nike KD VI “Away” silo packs OKC accents on a black base, a silver Swoosh sets off the upper, and is complimented by a speckled midsole.

Colorway: Black/Metallic Silver-Team Orange-Photo Blue

The upper of this KD VI is adorned with reflective, repeating arrows pattern first seen on the Pendleton Woolen Mills N7 collection. The colors are also reminiscent of the Nike KD IV Nerf that released two years prior.

Colorway: Cool Grey/Electric Green-Bright Crimson

Nike Basketball kicked off 2014 in a big way with the release of the Nike KD VI Away II. The combination of a black base with neon green and blue accents makes these kicks stand out on or off court.

Colorway: Black/Volt-Vivid Blue-Dark Grey

Nike Basketball celebrated Black History Month 2014 by dressing their signature athletes in special BHM edition shoes, like this royal purple KD VI.

Colorway: Purple/Metallic Gold

The Nike KD VI “DC” pays homage to KD’s Washington D.C. roots with a sneaker dressed in modern American hues. This style code uses a crimson base with obsidian contrast to symbolize our nation’s capitol.

Colorway: Light Crimson/Obsidian-Light Beige Chalk-Light Lucid Green

The Nike KD VI “Illusion” is chock full of flavor, packing a printed upper and a glow-in-the-dark sole. This tribute colorway launches in conjunction with the Kay Yow Foundation, providing proceeds for cancer research and sporting the foundation’s logo on the silo’s tongue.

Colorway: Light Arctic Pink/Photo Blue-Vivid Pink

The Nike KD VI “Liger” obviously draws inspiration from a king-size cat, featuring an electric green upper, atomic orange stripes, and accented by night factor nods on the tongue, branding and medial paneling.

Colorway: Electric Green/Night Factor-Atomic Orange

Forged by fire, the Nike KD VI “Neutral” offers dark tones of black and anthracite on the base, while a bright total orange Swoosh and team orange accents hop off the subtle upper.

Colorway: Anthracite/Total Orange-Team Orange-Mica Green

One of the most unorthodox colorways of the Nike KD VI to release, the Nike KD VI “Easter” boasts a unique green easter camo print across its upper.

Colorway: Light Lucid Green/Atomic Mango-Lucid Green-Green

Held back from the public, the MVP himself is the only person to received this one-of-one edition of the KD VI shoe. Don’t fret, though, as athletes and fans globally are still able to create their own MVP shoe, or mimic the look of KD’s, on NIKEiD.

Colorway: N/A

Night vision is the source of inspiration on this KD VI. Offering a solid black base with light lucid green accents on the inner lining and outsole, subtle hints of atomic mango add detail along with a metallic jewel print on the Swoosh and logo.

Colorway: Black/Metallic-Clear-Light Lucid Green-Atomic Mango

The lone KD VI on this list yet to release is the KD VI “What the KD,” which contains 35 graphics and colors from all of the previously released KD VI colorways that combine to create a single sneaker that represents an amazing year for Kevin Durant and the Nike KD VI.

Nike KD VI “DC Pre-Heat”
