Sneaker Story:

“I’ve been collecting off and on since I was a teenager in the late 90s. I started to really get back into it about four years ago, and haven’t looked back since. Back in my college days, it was all about Jordans and Air Maxes, but now my focus is geared to late model LeBrons PEs and other Nike Basketball products. I am still on the hunt for some older models, but keep my hopes up to come across them one day. The LeBron X model is by far my favorite to hoop in. I also like to collect the NBA All-Star themed shoes, and the Christmas Collections. The only Jordans that I collect now are very specific, with Jordan 4s,11s,13s or Doernbechers.”

Collection Starter/Oldest Pair: Air Jordan 11 “Columbia” (2001)

“The shoe that started it all was definitely the Jordan 11s while I was growing up. Most of my OG Jordans got lost in the shuffle of life, between moving away to go to college and coming back and not having a permanent place to call home for a few years while I figured out what I wanted to do with my life. I had every single playoff release there was back in the day. My neighbor showed me “Flint” 13s right before my last regular season game in high school and I had to borrow them just for the game. Even though they were not my size, I had my best career game with them on. It had to be the shoes. The oldest pair that I currently own would be Air Jordan 11 “Columbia” retro from 2001.”

Most Rare Pair: Nike LeBron PEs

“I guess this is where I have been focusing my attention for the past year or so. Older Lebron PE’s to other random exclusives, I am always chasing the next pair.”

Most Frequent Wear: Nike Zoom Revis “Denim”

“It’s a tough call to decide my most frequent wear. It’s all in spurts, since I have to wear dress shoes to work six days a week. I guess right now I would have to say the Revis “Denim.”

Personal Favorite: Nike LeBron X “Ring Ceremony” PE, Nike LeBron 8 “Hardwood Classic” PE

“As a child growing up in the 90s, Michael Jordan was (and always will be) basketball. Being from Boston, I would spend countless hours in my driveway trying to “Be Like Mike” or Larry Bird, depending on the day. My first personal favorite would be Air Jordan 11 “Columbia,” my OG pair. In recent years, my love for sneakers has focused on the LeBron models. LeBron has taken over the NBA and Nike has focused their attention to his line by putting out the best quality in terms of performance, comfort, and looks. My favorite pairs are the Nike LeBron X “Ring Ceremony” PE and suede LeBron 8 “Hardwood Classic” PE. Both were extremely hard to find, but I am glad they will remain in my collection until the day I decide to hang it up.”

Post a picture of your collection as a whole on Instagram with the hashtag #communitycollections, or send it to info@snkrsday.com for a chance to be featured on Snkrs Day’ next edition of Community Collections.

Community Collections goes back to Beantown to highlight a collector that has a stock full of heavy hitters.
