During the first game of LeBron James’ NBA career, the young star intercepted a cross-court pass and began charging toward the rim. With a few dribbles and a couple of steps, King James took flight, ascending in a pose that positioned the ball cocked behind his head at eye level with the rim. He proceeded to slam the rock home as he’d do countless times thereafter. This image is what we now consider the signature LeBron dunk, and that iconic moment in time was converted into the “Dunkman” silhouette, which has been branded over a grey/green colorway on nearly every LeBron sneaker since.

Today, the Nike LeBron “Dunkman” series is arguably one of, if not the best, ongoing sneaker series in the game. Earlier, we received confirmation that the next “Dunkman” drop will be the “Dunkman” Nike LeBron 11 Low.

Over the Dunkman series’ tenure, our staff has kept an ongoing catalog of all the Nike LeBron “Dunkman” sneakers that have surfaced since James’ sneaker line began. In this feature, you will see some of the recent “Dunkman” releases, as well as some of the mockups that never released to the public. Take a look at our History of Nike LeBron “Dunkman” Sneakers and be sure to post your favorite “Dunkman” LeBron in the comment section below.

Nike Zoom LeBron II “Dunkman” PE

Many people criticized Nike for only releasing a small selection of Zoom LeBron II colorways to the public. That said, many colorways have surfaced on the web that did not release. This particular player exclusive was one of the most loved. Would you purchase this colorway if it released?

Nike Zoom LeBron II “Dunkman” Two Hands

The PE version of the Nike Zoom LeBron II “Dunkman” features an identical color scheme to the one shown previously; however, this particular pair, dubbed the “Two Hands” colorway, possesses a grey Dunkman logo instead of the green logo. These also never made it to the shelves.

Nike Zoom LeBron II Low “Dunkman” Goodwin Sports Management PE

photo via NikeLeBron.net

Nike blessed the members of LeBron James’ first management agency with an exclusive run of “Dunkman” Nike Zoom LeBron II Lows. Much like the Nike Air Max LeBron VII Low, this pair doesn’t feature the “Dunkman” logo, yet, its colorway is very Dunkman-esque. Instead of the logo, Goodwin Sports Management’s initials appear on the heel.

Nike Zoom LeBron Low ST “Dunkman”

The Nike Zoom LeBron ST Low was the first “Dunkman” sneaker to ever release to the public. It first appeared at a Nike Designers Party during the 2007 NBA All-Star Weekend in Las Vegas. Months later, Nike released the sneaker.

Nike Zoom LeBron Soldier “Dunkman”

Before one of LeBron James’ inline signature models received the “Dunkman” treatment, Nike applied it to the LeBron’s Soldier line. Nike released this sneaker as an Eastbay exclusive and it quickly became one of the more popular colorways for the Solider series.

Nike Zoom LeBron III “Dunkman”

Although Nike blessed us with “Dunkman” sneakers in the Soldier form, this was the first in-line signature model to receive the “Dunkman” treatment. However, Nike decided to keep this particular sneaker as an unreleased sample to many fans’ disappointment.

Nike Zoom LeBron III Low “Dunkman” PE

This Nike Zoom LeBron III PE is definitely the oddball of the “Dunkman” series. The Electric Green color scheme is absent on this particular construction, yet, the Dunkman logo is present, specifically on the heel. This sneaker was a Friends & Family release for LeBron and his entourage.

Nike Zoom LeBron IV “Dunkman”

The Nike Zoom LeBron IV released as a Family & Friends edition in the midst of the numerous Zoom LeBron IV colorways that were made available to the public. LeBron James himself requested that this sneaker own a primarily grey colored base; yet, the translucent, Electric Green sole is obviously the most intriguing characteristic on this shoe.

Nike Zoom LeBron V “Dunkman”

"NIKE_ZOOM_LEBRON_V_DUNKMAN_WALLPAPER_1920"

This Nike Zoom LeBron V contains no trace of the Dunkman logo either, but how can you not think “Dunkman” when looking at this sneaker? Nike would later release an official “Dunkman” Zoom LeBron V Low; yet, many sneaker enthusiasts flocked to this pair over the official one.

Nike Zoom LeBron V Low “Dunkman”

Although Nike released a similar-colored Nike Zoom LeBron V (shown above), this low-cut version of James’ fifth signature model was the official “Dunkman” sneaker. This particular “Dunkman” style used the vibrant green color scheme lesser than any other “Dunkman” sneaker as it is only featured on the tongue border and logo.

Nike Zoom LeBron Soldier II “Dunkman”

The Nike Zoom LeBron Soldier II is one of the better “Dunkman” sneakers because it featured additional, personal LeBron accents besides the Electric Green/Mean Green color scheme. This makeup contains a map of Akron, Ohio, and features the location of Hickory Road where James grew up.

Nike Zoom LeBron VI Low “Dunkman”

Sadly, we didn’t receive an original “Dunkman” Nike Zoom LeBron VI. However, Nike decided to release a “Dunkman” Nike Zoom LeBron VI in low-cut form. It definitely serves as the sneaker with the biggest branding attributes in this series, as an enlarged “Dunkman” logo rests on the side panels.

Nike Zoom LeBron Soldier III “Dunkman”

In the midst of the Nike Zoom LeBron VI craze (20 or more colorways), Nike found time to create the best and most sought-after colorway of the Nike Zoom LeBron Soldier III model. Although LeBron’s Soldier line does not get as much attention as his signature line, this was one of the few early Soldier colorways that grabbed sneaker enthusiasts’ attention.

Nike Air Max LeBron VII “Dunkman”

The “Dunkman” colorway of the Nike Air Max LeBron VII is arguably the best colorway of James’ seventh signature sneaker. While the majority of the “Dunkman” sneakers contain a predominately white or grey base, this pair contains a mostly black base with the Electric Green hints.

Nike Air Max LeBron VII Low “Dunkman”

Although these do not officially own the “Dunkman” label, its recognizable colorway leaves no choice but to call it a Dunkman-inspired sneaker. This Nike Air Max LeBron VII Low serves as one of the early sneakers in the “Dunkman” series to release.

Nike LeBron 8 “Dunkman”

Much like the “Dunkman” Nike Air Max LeBron VII, this pair features a full-length, Electric Green Air sole unit. This time around, multiple shades of grey flywire and suede work together on the upper. Unfortunately for fans, this colorway did not release at retail.

Nike LeBron 8 P.S “Dunkman”

"Nike

To continue the iconic color combination, the Nike LeBron 8 PS Dunkman featured shades of grey on the upper, accented by electric green highlights. The silhouette of King James’ signature dunk pose is placed on the heel of the LeBron 8 PS. This postseason pair saw an official release at retail.

Nike LeBron 9 “Dunkman”

The eye-popping Nike LeBron 9 “Dunkman” features a sleek look of black and dark grey throughout the Hyperfuse upper, and is set off with bright volt accents throughout. Complete with the iconic “Dunkman” logo on the heel and additional hits of reflective 3M to add an extra jolt of flash, the LeBron 9 Dunkman also boasts a speckled midsole.

Nike LeBron 9 Elite “Volt Dunkman”

"Nike

Never released to the general public, this vibrant Nike LeBron 9 Elite colorway features an all-volt upper contrasted with black carbon fiber wing. Dunkman logos are embossed on the tongue and pull-tab, while a speckled midsole caps off the silhouette.

Nike LeBron X “Dunkman”

The upper on the Nike LeBron X “Dunkman” is submerged in seaweed green, highlighted with doses of atomic green on the Nike Swoosh, Flywire and outsole. The sharp geometric ventilation cuts on the silhouette display the diamond inspiration of the LeBron 10 model, while the “Dunkman” logo can be found on the inside heel of each shoe.

Nike LeBron X “Volt Dunkman”

By far one of the brightest colorway on our list, and maybe the brightest of any Nike LeBron silhouette we’ve seen, is the Nike LeBron X “Volt Dunkman.” Electrifying in color, the second Nike LeBron X “Dunkman” version to release saw King James’s tenth sneaker draped entirely in volt and complemented by a grey speckled midsole.

Nike LeBron 11 “Dunkman”

Keeping the “Dunkman” theme alive, we received the Nike LeBron 11 draped in a few different hues of green. This Nike LeBron 11 proudly bears the Dunkman logo atop the tongue and on the insole of the sneaker, helping carry the “Dunkman” theme into 2014.

Nike LeBron 11 Low “Dunkman”

The Nike LeBron 11 Low is the most recent sneaker to receive the “Dunkman” treatment, adorned with volt paint splatter dripping along its medium khaki and olive upper. The “Dunkman” insignia tags the tongue, completing the latest launch from the storied series.
