#9 – Nike Big Nike “Space City”

“Houston, we have a problem.” Many of you have heard those words used on many occasions, yet, you do not know the origin in which they came from. The origin and this Nike Big Nike’s inspiration both come from NASA Johnson’s Space Center located in Houston. Its speckled outsole (resembling a star-filled sky) and its planetary ring on the heel gives the shoe an overall futuristic, out-of-space look.

#8 – BBC “Deep Space”

BBC went for the simple route regarding its space/lunar inspirations. Obviously, a midnight blue base mixed with a white splatter design throughout the base reminds many of simply looking up at night time. It is safe to say this sneaker this sneaker is nothing less than clear and straight to the point.

#7 – Nike Air Max 1 “Lunar”

The Nike Air Max 1 “Lunar” is the most recently designed sneaker in this lineup. With that said, it was created for the very reason we are doing this post. Although the colorway represents the space theme to the tee, it is crater-like imprint that makes this shoe unique.

#6 – Reebok Alien Stomper

The Reebok Alien Stomper does not feature any specific space inspired details such as a planetary ring, crater print or a splatter design, however, you would be lying if you did not think of a space boot upon seeing these. Everything from its colorway to its bulkiness reminds one of a shoe specially made for out of space. Can you actually stomp out aliens in this sneaker?

#5 – Nike SB Dunk Low “Raygun”

In 2002, the Rayguns made their appearance on a Nike Basketball commercial. The team consisted of Vince Carter AKA Dr. Funk, Jermaine O’Neal, Paul Pierce, Baron Davis and Jerry Stackhouse. Based out of the UFO conspiracy capital of the world, Roswell, Arizona, aka Area 51, the team jersey colors and logo were quickly placed on the Dunk Low silhouette. With the amount of “outer space” sightings in the area, we couldn’t possibly leave them off the list. Besides, they’ve got the funk!

#4 – Puma Clyde “Moon Festival”

The Puma Clyde “Moon Festival” colorways were inspired by the Chinese Moon Festival that takes place on August 15th every year. Although the both colorways do not seem to have any lunar inspirations at a first glance, it does contain multiple details in the form of a moon picture on the tongue and a picture of the Festival Moon Lady on the heel.

#3 – Nike SB Dunk Low “Lunar”

This particular Nike SB Dunk Low paid tribute to the first solar eclipse that our world witnessed. As with many other sneakers in this lineup, this shoe possesses a Silver/Grey-Black color scheme; however, its moon design on the heel panel give this shoe an official lunar/space attribute.

#2 – Nike Hyperdunk

Why is the Nike Hyperdunk feautred in this lineup you ask? It has its reason just like the other sneakers. The Nike Hyperdunk was officially the first sneaker to ever incorporate Lunarfoam technology. This is obviously the oddball in this post – no moon, no stars, no planets and no galaxy. Seeing that many of you labeled the Hyperdunk Nike’s best baskeball sneaker of last year, we had to place it near the top of the list.

#1 – Air Jordan 11 “Space Jam”

For that reason, along with this shoe being one of the most well-received sneakers ever, makes the Air Jordan 11 “Space Jam” our best Space/Lunar Inspired Sneaker.
