Sneaker Story:

“To be honest, I can’t really say what got me into shoes. I started collecting before it was the cool thing to do, so none of my friends were really into it. Over time, however, I have formed friendships with lots of people in the sneaker community by attending events and networking on social media. My collection is definitely Jordan-themed. He is my all-time favorite player, and I have always been a big fan of his shoe styles. Recently, I have branched out and copped some Kobes and Lebrons, but the majority of collection is still Jordan. At one time, I had over 100 pairs, but over the last two years I have really downsized my collection. My current lifestyle does not allow me to wear sneakers as often as I would like, so when I do get the opportunity, I make sure to take full advantage.”

Collection Starter: Air Jordan 11 Low White/Columbia Blue (2001)

“I deem this shoe the collection starter because it was the first pair I purchased with my own money. I was a freshmen in high school when they dropped. The pair pictured is actually DS. My original pair was stolen when my home was broken into during the summer of 2010. The collection starter had to be replaced, though, and when I found a DS pair I decided to leave them that way.”

Most Rare Pair: Air Jordan 13 Premio “Bin 23”

“I have a few rare pairs in the collection, but I feel these are probably the most rare. Over the past two years, I have really become a believer in “Quality over Quantity,” and the quality of these shoes are amazing! I was lucky enough to get this pair and a pair of Doernbecher 4s in a massive trade. I would say I came out on top in that one.”

Personal Favorite: Air Jordan 3 “Doernbecher”

“My all-time favorite! I had been on the lookout for this shoe for a long time, but could never find it at the price point I was willing to pay. I was hoping to get the retro version that dropped this past summer, but missed out on that one too. I finally found a pair around Christmas of last year, and I was able to work out a trade for them.”

Oldest Pair: Air Jordan 11 “Playoffs” (2001)

“As you can see, my oldest pair and collection starter both came out in the same year. The “Bred” 11 is the second shoe I purchased, and has accompanied me in many of my life’s biggest events. I wore this shoe to my high school prom, graduation, college graduation, and my brother’s marriage. I am getting married later this year, and if my fiancé will allow it, I will wear them during my wedding too.”

Most Frequent Wear: Air Jordan 11 Low IE

“I have always been a big fan of lows. Summer is almost here, so I am back to wearing them on the regular. This pair is nice and simple, and really goes well with the majority of what I have been wearing lately. ”
