This week’s Community Collections highlights an American sneaker enthusiast who is currently stomping around Japan in his exclusives. Ehdie Masai Sackey is a US Navy Firefighter from the Virgin Islands that has taken his organized showroom with him around the world. Currently stationed in Japan, Sackey started @Sneakaninjaz while in Hawaii and has continued the trend overseas. Leave your feedback on his stash in the comment section at the bottom of the page, and keep Snkrs Day streaming for everything sneakers.

Name: Ehdie Masai Sackey “The first sneaker to get my FULL attention was the OG Black/Cement Air Jordan III. I had never seen anything like it, and of course because there was no Internet that I knew of back then, I couldn’t go search for it later. I actually had to depend on that person wearing them again. It was almost a year before I saw them again, and even then I had no idea what they were until years later. My family was not into name-brand clothing and shoes, so yes I was a Payless guy (not by choice). It wasn’t until my early teens where I was able to get my own by cutting grass and washing cars. I started with Pennys, and went off from there. Now, I’m a US Navy Firefighter living in Japan and loving it. I always try to help others get the pairs that they want when I have the time, but I think these days people don’t appreciate the things they are able to obtain, and I hope this sneaker life takes a sharp turn back in the right direction. I started @Sneakaninjaz in Oahu, Hawaii and took it over to Japan. I have always been about positivity and helping people out. This is not quite the entire collection. This is what the wife lets me keep in the house without it getting too sloppy. The rest are stored away neatly elsewhere. And yes, I pretty much wear everything. Thanks!”

“This shoe was the first pair of “name brand” shoes that I could call my own. These OGs were actually handed down to me three sizes bigger than I wore. I’m not sure if necks were breaking because they were dope or because they looked too big on me, but I really didn’t care. I’m glad there was no social media back then, I would have probably been roasted! (Photo taken in Yokohama, Japan)”

Profile:
