Collection Summary:

“Growing up, I never had many options as far as sneakers were concerned. I would have one pair to wear to school, and then a pair of boots for the winter season here in Upstate NY. My Dad would take me shoe shopping, and if I was lucky he would give me a $60 limit to buy a pair of sneakers, which nowadays that might not even get you a left shoe. It came to a point where my passion for sneakers was growing so quickly that I had to take it upon myself to get what I wanted. The most important thing to me is wearing what you like, and not what is considered the hot release at that point in time. That’s why my collection ranges from OG Air Jordans, Lebrons, Kobes and Melos, to Griffeys, old school T-Macs, Iversons, and a plethora of Nike trainers from years of playing sports in high school and college. The shoe that started it all for me, the Air Jordan 12 “Flint”, lead to the 12ss being one of my all-time favorite sneakers. As you will see, I have been fortunate enough to get my hands on almost every colorway of Jordan 12s to ever release, which may be the highlight of my collection. Also, being that Syracuse has such a strong basketball following and I have been going to games ever since I was little, that helped trigger my interest early on and helped develop my collection throughout the years. I’m certainly proud of the collection I have garnered thus far, but I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.”

Collection Starter: Air Jordan 12 “Flint” (2003)

“I first noticed the Jordan 12s in 2003 when I was watching a high school basketball game, and for some reason they just stuck out to me and stayed engraved in my mind for many years. I was finally able to get my hands on a pair of “Flint” 12s in high school, and that pair certainly jump-started my Air Jordan 12 collection.”

Most Rare Pair: Nike Lebron 9 Elite “MVP” Mache Custom (2012)

“It’s amazing to see what sneaker artists can produce when given a blank shoe and some sort of inspiration. I felt that getting a pair of custom kicks would be pretty cool because it would be something that just about no one else has or has ever seen. I contacted Mache a couple of years ago and had him do a rendition of his Lebron “MVP” Custom. After waiting about 4 months, I finally received them and couldn’t have been happier.”

Most Frequent Wear: Air Jordan XX1 Black/Flint grey (2006)

“It’s tough to single out one pair of shoes that would be my most frequent wear. After all, I buy the shoes I have so that I can wear every single one of them. This Air Jordan 21 is a simple shoe, as well as very versatile being a neutral colorway that can be worn with anything. The tumbled leather also provides a very solid shell for the shoe, which rarely acquires any dirt marks or scuffs.”

Personal Favorite: Nike LeBron 9 “Big Bang” (2012)

“The first thing I thought about when I saw this pair of shoes was the fact that they would catch anyone’s eye with how bright they are. I have always liked being a little different, and having shoes that were just really out there and wild. This shoe definitely encompasses all of that, and is a shoe you won’t see on a daily basis. The glow-in-the-dark soles also add that extra flavor that is normally uncharacteristic on sneakers.”

Oldest Pair: OG Air Jordan 12 Black/Red (1997)

“The OG Bred 12s take you back to what the quality of Jordan sneakers used to be, which was unparalleled to the quality of the Retro Jordans released today. For such a basic design, this shoe has really made its mark throughout the past 17 years. I, without a doubt, had to have a pair of OG 12s, being that I have essentially every other colorway of the 12s that have ever released.”

Post a picture of your collection as a whole on Instagram with the hashtag #communitycollections, or send it to info@snkrsday.com for a chance to be featured on Snkrs Day’ next edition of Community Collections.

Our latest Community Collections features an avid sneaker enthusiast from Upstate New York who has every Air Jordan 12 colorway…

[1207912,1215390,618
1225861,1215671,1215586

2":"type-post
