Our latest <a href=\"https:\/\/www.snkrsday.com\/tag\/community-collections\/\" target=\"_blank\">Community Collections<\/a> visits <a href=\"http:\/\/instagram.com\/peteydom23#\" target=\"_blank\">Pete Domingo<\/a>, a true sneaker collector from The City of Brotherly Love who got his passion from working at a Finish Line. Proud of his Filipino roots, Domingo was humbly raised with a pair or two a year, until he got his own job when he turned 16 at his local FL. From there, his fire was lit and he turned an interest in footwear technology into a <strong>400-pair<\/strong> collection. I remember always getting hand-me-downs from my brother too, consisting of old <strong>Nike Agassis<\/strong> or <strong>Reebok Blacktops, ATRs and Pumps<\/strong>. I never really thought of sneakers as a collection, it was just cool to have a choice of footwear every day. Five pairs of shoes for a teenager was a big deal back then, but everything intrigued me. At 16-years-old in the summer of 1999, I decided to get a part-time job at my local <strong>Finish Line<\/strong>. That&#8217;s when it all really started. New technology has always been at the forefront of this for me, and being able to see all the pairs that we had to offer, it was like a dream. From there, it was a pair here and there, being able to afford more because of the discount. 15 years and 400 pairs or so later, here we are. I sold 200 pairs to get through college and then pay for a wedding. Everything I own now, I wear. This is a manageable size, I think. I like everything, but most of the collection is <strong>Nike<\/strong>. I&#8217;m big on Nike Basketball currently, but can never turn down a SB, Reebok Iverson or Air Max. Some hype, but mostly not, just a lot of variety. From Finish Line, to being a longtime Niketalk member, to posting daily on Instagram, it&#8217;s crazy to see how immensely popular the &#8220;sneaker culture&#8221; has gotten. <strong>The more the merrier, I say.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Personal Favorite: <\/strong>Air Jordan 16 White\/Midnight Navy (2001)<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cI met my wife in <strong>2001<\/strong> while wearing these (she was in <strong>Michigan Air Max 95&#8217;s<\/strong>, not to be outdone). This is my favorite basketball shoe of all time. I own three pairs of this colorway in varying conditions, and I&#8217;ve played in all of them. The design, visible Zoom Air, the removable gaiter\/shroud, the patent leather toe- give us a retro please JB!\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Collection Starter: <\/strong>Air Jordan 13 &#8220;Flint&#8221; (1998)<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cThe design of the <a href=\"\/air-jordans\/air-jordan-13\/\" target=\"_blank\">Jordan XIII<\/a> is just immaculate. The materials, comfort, everything. By far my favorite colorway too. I wanted these badly in 1998, but luckily an online friend sold me his in 2001, which started my buying sneakers online phase.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Most Rare Pair: <\/strong>Nike Air Max Deluxe (1999) &amp; Nike Presto (2000)<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cWhen I first started at Finish Line, these were the up-and-coming models, even though the Deluxes did not sell well. The <strong>Prestos<\/strong> with the prints, you just never see them around, and the ice print was one of my favorites, along with the lightning print. The <strong>Air Max Deluxe<\/strong> was just amazing to me. The AM 97 base was comfortable, but the upper design was just out of this world, with the White\/Blue-Grey swirls mixed with the 3M hits. Again, not many pairs seen today.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Oldest Pair: <\/strong>Air Jordan 11 &#8220;Playoffs&#8221; (1996)<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cNot much you can say about this iconic shoe. I wear them whenever I can. I had the <strong>2001<\/strong> retro, but had to obtain the originals. The patent leather, the comfort, and the durability is just astounding.\u201d<br \/>\n<!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Most Frequent Wear: <\/strong>Nike Rift Black\/Red (2001)<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cYes, the <strong>Nike Rift<\/strong>. I wear these almost every time I go to the gym. I use them for running, errands, etc. Crazy comfy, the split toe, the ninja factor, I can go on and on.
