Lance Armstrong x Futura x Nike FC

In 2005, Nike and Lance started 10//2 which was a performance line of apparel and cycling gear. ?This shoe did not have any call out to the Livestrong name on the shoes, but did feature the 10//2 label. ?Artist Futura, Nike’s Mark Smith, and Lance Armstrong worked together for the graphics on the side of the shoe that represented a number of things important to Lance’s life and story of overcoming cancer.

This Nike FC was produced to the tune of only 500 and was released in July of 2005 at colette in Paris.

Lance Armstrong x Nike Zoom Moire

Lance is known around the world as history’s best road race cyclist, but few knew where Lance got his start in this sport. ?Cycling was just one of the three legs Lance had to take part in as a triathlete. ?Running, the final leg, and where winners and losers are chosen, was an important one to Lance’s triathlon career. ?In 2006, after winning a record setting 7 Tour de France’s, Lance ran in the 2006 New York Marathon wearing the Nike + Zoom Moire.

Mark Smith?created a manhole graphic that symbolizes the indelible spirit of both Lance and New York. The manhole cover is broken into sections by six spokes, which mirror the spokes of a bicycle. In each section, graphics such as a marathon icon, a cancer sign, a lightning bolt, a skull and numerous others are piled atop each other in tribute to Lance and his army. Around the outside of the manhole cover runs the epigraph?twenty six point two miles thru five boroughs in the cold wet weather of New York City on Sunday November fifth two thousand and six USA.

Lance’s strength resides on the inside, what he’s truly made of. In a similar fashion, Smith chose to incorporate the symbols from the manhole on the inside of the Air Zoom Moire+. Using sublimated graphics, the story of Lance’s life plays out where it’s needed most internally. Externally, the shoe?features the same great outsole and upper as the original.

Livestrong x Nike Sportswear LunaRacer

Lance took a couple of years off from the Tour de France, but gearing up for his 8th run at the yellow jersey, Nike Sportswear had Lance covered with a Livestrong makeup of the Nike LunaRacer. ?This shoe was no only great to the eye, but also to the foot featuring Nike Flywire technology in the upper for lock down support while remaining very lightweight. ?The sole was composed of Nike Lunar Foam which accomplishing the unthinkable being incredibly soft while remaining nearly weightless.

Livestrong x Nike Sportswear Lunar Everyday

Released the same day as the LunaRacer, Nike Sportswear introduced the Lunar Everyday remixing the Nike Free Everyday with a Lunar Lite outsole providing even more cushioning to the shoe than before. ?Call these the shoes Lance wears everyday he isn’t racing.

Livestrong x Nike Lunar Trainer

Lance is not looking for anything that is going to slow him down whether it’s a part of his race or his everyday training. ?The Nike Lunar Trainer utilizes the NASA tech Lunar Foam with an extremely breathable and lightweight upper.

Livestrong x Nike Air Zoom City Tiempo

Just ask the cool kids, cycling is in. ?Not just any riding, the fixed gear kind. ?Like the FC, this shoe is an indoor soccer model that has been?reinterpreted. ?Four colorways were released by Nike Sportswear including this one that was worked up by Jupiter of UNDFTD.

Livestrong x Nike Trainer Dunk

Like the triathlete that Lance was in his younger years, the Nike Trainer Dunk is a three way hybrid of performance. The shoe combines the look of the Nike Dunk Low, Nike Trainer 1, and lastly the Nike Free. This pair was not nearly as limited as the other shoes released by Nike Sportswear, but still a great get for less than $90.

Livestrong x Nike Sportswear Air Max 1

Originally developed by Tinker Hatfield and Mark Parker in 1987, the first Air Max, the Air Max 1 was designed to give runners the best cushioning possible, a solution that was facilitated by enlarging the Air bag in the midsole. This new Air bag was big enough to reach the edges of the shoe, allowing designers to remove part of the midsole so it could be seen. Hatfield, now VP of Innovation Design and Special Projects, conceptualized and developed the Air Max?s signature visible Air unit and bright colorways after seeing the Georges Pompidou Center in Paris, a modern building with large glass walls that allow the inside of the building to be seen.

Livestrong x Nike Sportswear Air Max 90

The Air Max 90 had a 20% larger Air bag than the AM 1 so the window got larger and the shoe wider, characteristics that added weight. Hatfield compensated by designing an upper that used lighter materials. New mold techniques and eyelet technologies gave runners more options than they had ever experienced in a shoe before. The addition of more plastic components, along with geometric blocking that shuffled colors from midsole to the upper, gave the shoe a faster look and called out the bigger Air bag. Hatfield also separated the midsole into front and back compartments to allow a range of performance and material options.

Livestrong x Nike Sportswear Air 180

When the 10//2 Collection first released, a special edition option on NikeiD included a 10//2 version of the Nike Air 180.? Finding a pair of these today is extremely hard to find.? For the Stages collection assembled by Nike Sportswear, NSW called on this 1991 classic that was the most cushioned running shoe ever when it was initially released.

Livestrong x Mister Cartoon x Nike Sportswear Air Force 1

Never released publicly, the original Mister Cartoon Air Force 1 was only available to select friends and family of Los Angeles? most celebrated tattoo artist.

Livestrong x Hideout x Nike Sportswear Air Footscape Woven

It only made sense that seminal London streetwear staple, The Hideout, would challenge the status quo when asked.
