Collection Summary

“I’ve always been heavily into shoes, the Bulls, and Michael Jordan because being from Chicago it comes pretty much natural. In 2004 I started high school at age 12, and I started to take shoe collecting more serious because my feet stopped growing. I was finally able to purchase everything I wanted from the online websites, and I had to have nice shoes in high school. My collection includes mainly Jordans and vintage basketball, as well as shoes from the 1990s. I was born in 1992, and I just love that era for clothing and style. What keeps me going is the feeling of nostalgia of getting the items that we couldn’t afford when I was younger. Since starting, some shoes have come and go, but my love has continued to grow into what it is today.”

Collection Starter: Air Jordan 7 “Bordeaux” (1992)

“These shoes are literally the ones that started it all. These are the first shoes that ever went on my feet. My mother bought these for me as a newborn (same pair). I’ve always kept this shoe as a reminder of the serious addiction that I have today (which means I didn’t start it!)”

Oldest Pair: Air Jordan 1 (1985)

“These I’s are Originals from 1985. I found them on eBay a while back for a pretty decent price. I love the fact that they are so old and worn in, it adds to them and I don’t want to restore them at all!”

Most Rare Pair: Nike Air Max LeBron VII “Red Carpet” (2009)

“I consider the “Red Carpets” my most rare pair, because I never see anyone wear them. Whenever I put them on my foot, people always ask me where I got them from, and how much they cost me. I actually received them from a good friend who completely quit collecting shoes.”

Personal Favorite: Air Jordan 11 “Concord” (2011)

“The “Concord” XI’s have always been my personal favorites, because they are just so classy. The white, patent leather, and clear sole have always been something alluring to me, and when they released again, I had to have them.”

Most Frequent Wear: Air Jordan 1 “Royal”

“Royal I’s are just one of the shoes that look good with anything. Some mornings, I find myself searching for certain shoes to wear, and these somehow just always end up on my feet.”

Post a picture of your collection as a whole on Instagram, with the hashtag #communitycollections, for a chance to be featured on Snkrs Day’ next edition of Community Collections.

Community Collections is headlined this week by a female rapper from Chicago.
