Five Fearless Forecasts for 2013-2014 NBA season.

1. Nick Young will struggle to maintain the “wow” factor now that he’s with the Los Angeles Lakers.

We love Nick Young here. Don’t get it twisted. For the past three years, Nick Young has been one of the most exciting players to watch in terms of Kicks On Court. He’s been fortunate to play for three teams – Washington Wizards, Los Angeles Clippers and the Philadelphia 76ers – that feature a color combination of red, white and blue. There’s a limitless amount of shoes that agree with that color scheme. Purple and gold is a different beast in regard to matching, and the NBA will only let a player go so far with contrasting shoe colorways.

Nick Young will wear some intriguing shoes as always but will struggle to maintain a steady diet of the vintage heat we usually see him wearing because of the more unconventional color scheme. Kobes will dominate his on-court rotation, but look for him to rock retros, just not as much as previous seasons.

2. Custom sneakers will be worn just as much as player exclusives this season.

Towards the end of last season, we saw custom shoes come alive on NBA courts. From Nate Robinson’s all-red Air Jordan 13s to Iman Shumpert’s Real Deals, customs seemingly took over the first round of the playoffs.

This year, customs have even a bigger presence on court and will be worn as early as the first few games of the season. Ah, yes – creativity at its finest.

3. Ray Allen will wear an Air Jordan 11 PE on Opening Night of the 2013-2014 NBA Season.

Do you honestly think Jordan Brand would let Ray Allen step foot onto the court in something in line with the rest of the brand members? This is Jesus we’re talking about. Let’s check his track record: an Air Jordan 11 PE in Opening Night of Boston’s Ring Ceremony game, an Air Jordan 13 PE for breaking the three-point record, an Air Jordan XX and an Air Jordan XVIII for Christmas Day 2012. Shall we continue?

Tonight, Ray Allen likely takes the court in another Air Jordan 11 PE – this time somehow connecting with Miami’s color scheme. You can bet gold will be a part of this one as well since he’s fresh off of another championship in which he played a big role (his Game 6 shot will never be forgotten). Some may second guess the fearlessness of this forecast, but we expect to see a new 11 on Ray Allen’s feet tonight.

4. Tony Wroten will finish Top 3 in Kicks On Court Champion voting.

If there was a College Kicks On Court Champion award, former Washington Huskie Tony Wroten would’ve won it following the 2011-2012 season. The explosive guard wore everything from “Wheat” Air Jordan 13s to 2006-released “Grape” Air Jordan 5s. During the 2012-2013 season, his rookie year in the league, Wroten wasn’t able to show his on-court repertoire as much as he would like to due to playing time. Plus, the Grizzlies’ color scheme is a tough one to color coordinate.

With a new team, an inviting color scheme and increased playing time, Tony Wroten returns to his Kicks On Court onslaught we once saw during his college days – wearing a multitude of retros – and finishes Top 3 in Kicks On Court Champion voting.

5. LeBron James will wear the Nike Air Zoom Generation at least once this season.

It’s only right that King James hits the court in the Nike Air Zoom Generation at least once this season. There’s no doubt that his signature shoe line has grown and developed through LeBron’s 10-year NBA career – the LeBron 11 is sure to be seen in some amazing colorways this season – but the shoe he first stepped foot on an NBA court wearing will never be forgotten and deserves some shine on the court 10 years later.

In LeBron X “MVP” form, King James wears the Nike Air Zoom Generation for one half before switching to a never-before-seen Nike LeBron 11 tonight, the true 10-year anniversary of his first game in the NBA.

Sure, we’ve seen some impressive kicks on court during the preseason, but the real season starts tonight.
Throughout the offseason, we’ve paid attention to every player transaction, every brand switch by each player and all social media posts pertaining to kicks on court. We’ve done our research of certain anniversaries and milestones that will happen this season and noticed the ever-evolving trends that will more than likely take place this year. We’ve also looked back at past seasons in regards to the kicks that were worn on certain games. So, without further ado, here are our Five Fearless Forecasts for 2013-2014 NBA season.

[835
1225551

2":"type-post
