Collection Summary

“I started a lot later than most sneakerheads. Only a 17-year-old Broncos fan from Philly, I got into the sneaker culture from my love of sports. I originally began looking for sports paraphernalia, which shifted to me looking for sneakers. I was always more interested in the Originals than the Retros, especially after the resurgence of Jordans began. In the beginning, I started hunting for Original Jordans, which were easy to find at the time because everyone’s focus was on the latest Jordans to be released, although they were remakes of Jordans that already existed. Soon after, I started to dig deeper into the history of sneakers and was amazed by how many unknown or ignored sneakers were out there. There was so much hype around Jordan Brand that I was able to grab more rare sneakers, knowing that regardless of their branding there was value to these sneakers because of their rare quality. Trying to keep up with funding my sneaker collection and clothing was a struggle for a then 15-year-old with no job. I soon decided to sell some of the sneakers that I collected, which I’ve come to greatly regret. I am now gathering most of the sneakers I’ve collected for an upcoming website called “Box & Bindle”, where all of these sneakers and other rare clothing will be showcased. This creates a better platform for myself to showcase the rarity of my entire collection. The site will present the scarce products that are craved today for both men and women. Stay tuned…”

Collection Starter: Nike Air Barrage (1995)

“It was between the 1999 “White Cement” Air Jordan 4‘s, and the Nike Barrage. I decided to grab the Barrages. Why? Because you can easily come across another pair of ’99 White Cement 4’s, but not a DS pair of Air Barrages- in your size! Plus the design on the Barrages is very nice.”

Oldest Pair: Ewing 33 Hi Sample (1989)

“Now these are one of the most mind-blowing sneakers that I have found. I would also nominate these as one of the Most Rare sneakers I own. I have never seen anyone with these. I couldn’t even find these on the Internet. The only time that I’ve seen these revealed were by the Ewing Athletics‘ Instagram page. This shoe is what I define as a rare shoe. The Ewing 33 Hi actually showcased in 1989, yet they are said to be introduced in 1990. It is a blessing that I’ve come across two pairs of these. Although they look pretty used, both pairs are deadstock. I love finding rare gems such as these, and it just shows you what shoes have been created that are barely revealed.”

Nike Air Barkley 180 (2004)

“This is even one of my favorite shoes I have, since they represent Barkley in his Sixers days. This is a shoe that I knew I always had to have. I have 2 pairs of these, since one of them began coming apart. No matter what, I always have to have a pair of 180 Barkleys in this colorway!”

Personal Favorite: OG Ewing Sport Lite Suede (1992)

“This shoe is very unique. The color coordination is what makes this shoe special to me. Very rare. I was very hype to come across this shoe, having it on my list of must-have sneakers.”

Most Rare Pair: Fila Tourissimo

“I have so many sneakers that I could choose for “Most Rare“, but I’m going to go with the Fila Tourissimo. It’s sneakers like these that I believe people are barely aware of, yet these are what I believe to be a very unique sneaker. I define a rare sneaker as not only something people can barely acquire, but a shoe you can barely find on the Internet, or anywhere period! People tend to classify Original Air Jordans as rare, and I’m beginning to disagree. I do believe a few of them are very hard to come across, especially nowadays, but it’s not that hard to find someone who owns a pair- or three. So many people have drowned the scene of Original Jordans that I barely see them as being rare. I’m not trying to diss anyone who owns them as I have two, and hope to recollect pairs I have sold. Original Jordans are some of my favorite shoes of all time, don’t get me wrong, but people need to realize that there are so many more sneaker creations that are yet to be seen, that are better than most Jordans, in my opinion.”

Post a picture of your collection as a whole on Instagram, with the hashtag #communitycollections, for a chance to be featured on Snkrs Day’ next edition of Community Collections.

This week’s Community Collections is taken over by the column’s first teenager, but Caesar Su Flé isn’t your average kid.…

[1207912,1215390
1225861,1215671,1215586

2":"type-post
