Collection Summary

“My fascination with shoes came hand in hand with my love for basketball. Basketball is the national sport in my native Philippines, and of course it followed me when I moved to the states in the early 90’s. Michael Jordan of course was THE GAWD and all anyone could do was try to be like Mike, down to the socks. I didn’t even really start collecting shoes until the late 90’s, because of my brother Vito. I actually used them for their true purpose back then, such an unheard of concept now. My collection mainly consists of various Nike signature lines. Obviously MJ, LeBron, and a little bit of Penny, but mostly Nike stuff. I do have a mixture of randoms (other brands), but only what has sentimental value.”

Most Rare Pair: Air Jordan 20 “28 Days of Flight” (2013)

“I was fortunate enough to be one of the select few chosen to win a pair in Jordan Brand’s Instagram contest this past February. This pair is a one of one sample that just speaks multitudes about MJ’s accomplishments. Very great materials were used in this pairs’ construction. They are artfully crafted, and I cannot tell you enough how great the leather is on this pair.”

Collection Starter: Air Jordan XI “Space Jam” (1996)

“It was quite the phenomenon when MJ brought these out against the Magic, and of course its silver screen debut in the movie it would later be named after. Not much else to say but each time these came out, I made sure I had multiples.”

Personal Favorite: Air Jordan XX3 “Old Love” (2008)

“Such a beautiful shoe in almost every way conceivable. From the plush textile fabric, to the carbon fiber plating. It’s a pleasure having this shoe in my collection, especially because each shoe was hand crafted, giving a very personalized feel. ”

Most Frequent Wear: Nike Air Max 90 “Infrared” (1990)

“I honestly could never get sick of these retroing, and as a matter of fact, I am searching for replacement pairs. This particular colorway is just timeless. Of course, they’re very comfortable so you’ll often find me rocking these as my go-to pair.”

Oldest Pair: Air Jordan XI “Concord” (1995)

“I couldn’t get to my actual OG pair in time to shoot in more favorable weather, so I took pics of my 2001 pair in it its place. It’s arguably the most iconic shoe of the 90’s with the patent leather and cordura upper, and of course the carbon fiber plating.”
