Originally released in 1994 with Michael Jordan retired indefinitely, the set of inspirations for the Air Jordan 10 was a relatively shallow one. Given this development, Tinker Hatfield was compelled to relive MJ’s glory days, creatively chronicling Jordan’s achievements on the sneaker’s outsole, and leaving the door open for a return with “94 BEYOND” inscribed near the toe. The rest was history and Jordan eventually added more to his résumé. Thus, the Air Jordan 10’s accolade-ridden outsole is now a bit outdated. In order to fittingly revise the classic, we’ve re-inscribed the outsole reflect the current state of the Michael Jordan legacy. Check out all the new additions below.

Among MJ’s many achievements, his fistful of rings is, without a doubt, the most talked about and referred to. With only Bill Russell and his crew ahead of him (and Kobe Bryant in his rearview), we’d say this is definitely an accomplishment worth enshrining. Second to only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and tied with Bill Russell, Jordan captured five MVP titles in what was a highly competitive era of the NBA. Given the fact that Jordan first retired in his prime, this number could very well have been greater. Although MJ is not the all-time leader in any of these statistical categories, the fact that Jordan logged these numbers in only 14 seasons is a feat worth immortalizing on his sneakers. A testament to his label as a point-scoring machine, Jordan lit up to the scoreboard on a regular basis. Focused solely on adding tallies to his team’s win column, his 10 resulting scoring titles were simply an added perk. Boasting a career points-per-game average just a hair over 30, Jordan expectedly eclipsed that average on more than a few occasions. It wasn’t uncommon for His Airness to log a 40-point night, or go on a scoring tear breaking the 50 mark. It has to be a record to have your jersey retired by the same team twice. With MJ’s Tar Heel jersey being raised into the rafters, that makes three, right? Not exactly, but when counting his two Bulls retirements as one, Jordan’s 23 has still been lifted three times. Unusually, Pat Riley commissioned to have MJ’s 23 retired in his final game at the Heat arena. 1-2-3. Aside from wearing six NBA championship rings, Jordan is also well-known for his ability to dial down the pressure and come through in the clutch with a game-winning jumper. Initially, shots over Ehlo and Russell instantly come to mind. Despite nine failed attempts at making the last-second shot, we’ll leave you with this Jordan quote: “I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.” Despite the NBA All-Star Game being more or a less a popularity contest, it’s safe to assume that the best in the league are usually the ones chosen to take the court come February. 14 seasons in the NBA, 14 All-Star appearances. Numbers don’t lie. There’s no doubt in anyone’s mind, including Michael Jordan’s, that MJ’s ownership of the Bobcats has been a letdown. Nevertheless, it doesn’t change the fact he was the first former player to be majority owner of an NBA team. Who knew that after his first signature being banned, Jordan Brand would be able to take it this far? With 28 consecutive signatures in the bag, Jordan has a considerable lead over second place (Allen Iverson’s “Answer” line), and it doesn’t seem like that gap is going to close any time soon.

Originally released in 1994 with Michael Jordan retired indefinitely, the set of inspirations for the Air Jordan 10 was a…

[618
1225669

2":"type-post

6 NBA Championships
