Staff Picks reflect our current season status.

Matt Halfhill

Nike Free Inneva Woven SP “Night Stadium”
“The Nike Free Inneva Woven has been my go to shoe and my favorite new silhouette of the past several years so much so that I have every pair. It looks like I have to chase internationally for these next ones, but hey, that’s what friends are for!”

Allison Halfhill

Nike WMNS Air Max 1 Dark Grey/Black-Teal
“This week, I chose a shoe that I “like”, but don’t “love”. Air Max 1s are my favorite shoe of all time and this colorway is great. But this shoe would be sooo much better if the black leather mudguard and swoosh were actually black suede instead of textured leather. I’m all for utilizing different materials on a shoe, but I think it works best with tonal designs than multi-colored shoes.

Just my two cents:)”

George Kiel

Nike Kobe 8 “Pit Viper”
“Here’s yet another Kobe 8 that has caught my eye. While most of my kicks are grey, I’ve always been a fan of rocking loud, bold colorways of my go-to basketball sneakers on court. I’m not sure if this is a future purchase for me, but it’s definitely my favorite shoe that we covered this week.”

Peter Sim

Tannery x New Balance 998 “40-Year Anniversary”
“My pick this week is the Tannery x New Balance 998 “40th Anniversary.” The teal tonal suede looks great with the complementing salmon in the upper; as well as the color combination on the 998 outsole, which is truly one of the best outsoles in the game in my opinion.”

Brittany Shelton

Nike Flyknit Racer “Chlorine Blue”
“I love the Flyknit Racer, and this is a perfect fall colorway. I think I’m going to have to get the yellow pair as well.”

Ian Stonebrook

Air Jordan 5 Low “White Cement” Custom
“I’m a big fan of low cut Jordans, whether of the original or non-OG variety. I really dig these Dank customs on the AJ5 Low. The colorway is more nostalgic and masculine than the ladies colorways that dropped and I like having less shoe to wear in the Texas heat. These days, I’d probably take low 2s, 5s, 6s, 8s, 11s and 13s over their midtop counterpart. Bring ’em back, JB!”

Jordan Howenstine

Brandblack Sneaker Line/Raptop Low
“I’ve been waiting for more upstart brands to pop up. With fashion and individuality at an all time high, I figure like anything else: The more the merrier. I like like how diverse Brandblack’s line is. Low-tops are my preference, and I’d give the Brandblack Raptor Lows a go. They have a Kobe 5 feel to them (one of the best basketball shoes ever), and the ice blue bottom is clean.”

Kin Kwan

Puma Trinomic XT2 Plus
“I like the old school silhouette and the green/yellow accents. That sock liner looks like a puff of cloud, must feel like walking in the sky.”

Gabe Oshin

Air Jordan XX8 “Elephant Print”
“I’ve been wanting to get a pair of Jordan XX8s since I first saw them, and I’ve finally got it narrowed down. The question now is which to go with. Stay true with a grey elephant print, or go with red that houses a black interior?”

Mike Parsley

Nike Free Run 2 Sneakerboot
“The Free Run 2 was aesthetically my favorite Free Run shoe run to date, and while I would have never imagined them in a boot form, Nike did a great job on these. The dual-colored midsole is also a very nice touch. Can’t wait to lace a pair up for the winter time. “
