Kick Chronicles, we, the Snkrs Day staff, detail and discuss the one shoe we could wear every day if our hand, or foot for that matter, was forced. Check out the shoe each of us selected, and share your own stories of the one shoe you could wear every day with us after reading.

Ian Stonebrook

Air Jordan 10 “Steel”

Based entirely on experience, the one shoe in my collection that would have to get the deserted island treatment is the Air Jordan 10 “Steel.” While I rock and beat up the Black/Cement 3s on the reg, I can actually hoop in the “Steel” 10s, which is the deal breaker for me. These shoes have seen wear on the hardwood, they’ve been stepped on at the bar and they go well with the majority of my wardrobe. This retro release was surprisingly comfortable and really ahead of its time in a lot of ways, carrying components that almost feel like early versions of Dynamic Fit and Nike Free. Another great attribute about this shoe is that the leather cleans so easily. I remember being bummed about my pair back in the day because they had a big glue mark on the tongue but flaws and all, they’ve remained a favorite.

Michael Parsley

Vans Sk8-Hi LX Black/White

The Vans Vault Sk8 Hi LX Black/White is the perfect shoe for everyday wear. A very durable leather is used on the upper, inner-lining, and footbed, so I never have to worry about them wearing out on me. When it comes to versatility, this sneaker looks good with just about anything. It’s easy to pull them off whether you are dressed up or dressed down, and I have done both on many occasions. This shoe is also highly comfortable, which is a necessity for a shoe that you are going to wear everyday. If I ever decide to donate my sneaker collection, you know I’ll have to hold on to my Vans Vault Sk8 Hi LX.

Peter Sim

Air Jordan 3 Black/Cement

Although the Air Max 1 and Air Max 90 “Infrared” are my favorite sneakers of all-time, if I had to pick one shoe in my collection to wear every single day, it would be the Black/Cement colorway of the Air Jordan 3. Retro styles are certainly trendy these days, but this particular colorway has withstood the test of time. Also, nothing is more iconic in sneakers than the elephant print and the fact that the GOAT of basketball wore them. It’s not too aggressive looking and goes great with a lot of clothing combos for men and women alike. I really like the mix of leathers used for the upper and I feel it’s the perfect balance of black, grey, and red on a white midsole. They look even better after extended wear.

Brittany Shelton

Nike Huarache Free Run 2012 QS

Choosing only one shoe to wear for the rest of my life is a difficult task, especially when having to decide between the benefits of new sneaker technology and time-honored classics. Therefore, I think I have to go with the Huarache Free Run 2012 QS, which serves as a perfect combination of both. Free tech, classic styling, and the ability to pair this colorway with a number of outfits make these kicks more than worthy of continuous wear.

George Kiel

Air Jordan 5 “Wolf Grey”

If I had to wear the same shoe every single day, it would have to be a versatile pair of kicks that can easily transition from the court to my lifestyle off court. It would also have to be extremely durable and of my favorite color. Enter the “Wolf Grey” Air Jordan 5. I selected this shoe because, well, I wear it at least once a week. It’s one of my favorite retro releases from Jordan Brand, and it looks really good brand new or beat up. My pair is the latter because I wear them continuously.

Allison Halfhill

Nike Air Max 1 White/Black

Total no brainer – my 2010 Air Max 1 in black and white. I adore these shoes and always pack them when I travel because of how versatile they are.

Cameron White

Air Jordan 6 Black/Varsity Red

The one shoe in my collection I could wear everyday would be the Air Jordan 6 Retro Black/Varsity Red that dropped in 2010. I’ve been rocking my pair consistently every since its release. I just love the way the shoe looks on foot, and I like the way your pants cuff sits atop the unique tongue while wearing jeans. This colorway carries a black upper that allows me to pretty much wear them with anything. Even though mine are a little beat up, I would not mind lacing them up every day.

Kin Kwan

PRO-Keds Original Royal

I can wear the Pro-Keds Original Royal every day. In fact, I do wear them every day. They’re comfortable, and they easily match everything from jeans to shorts. To top it off, I got these for free. These PRO-Keds are practical, economical, and magical.

Jordan Howenstine

Air Jordan 11 “Cool Grey”

Grey is my go-to. It’s the middleman between generic white and black and goes with everything. Plus, it doesn’t get dirty. If I had to wear the same pair every day, it would have to be something that could stylishly transition from the hardwood to lifestyle, yet still look clean after wear and tear. The Air Jordan 11 “Cool Grey” is an adaptable shoe that can look casual or dressy, and of course still perform on the basketball court. Its patent leather is a dirt repellent, and even if it is gradually tinted over time it still looks good. If I had to pick one shoe for life, it would be the best sneaker of all-time in its most versatile colorway.

Sid Ashford

Air Jordan 3 Black/Cement

Although I typically go with function over fashion on a daily basis, I have to toss my Nike Free Runs aside for the Black/Cement Air Jordan 3s. Stylish in any setting and condition, the Air Jordan 3 is one of the only shoes I can’t live without.

Karlton Johnson

Air Jordan 3 “Black Flip”

If I could wear one shoe every single day, it would have to be the Air Jordan 3 “Black Flip.” You can never go wrong with an all-black shoe because it matches everything. In addition to that, the “Black Flip” 3s have a luxurious versatility to them and are easy to dress up.

Gabe Oshin

Nike Zoom Revis

Nike Zoom Revis. Hands down. No question. My closet is comprised of mostly neutral garments, so it also helps that this shoe, being black and red, goes well with my clothes. Aside from that, the Zoom Revis is by far the most comfortable and underrated shoe out right now.
