Smith and more.<\/p>\n<h3>Kevin Durant Wears KD V During NBA 2k13 Commercial Shoot<\/h3>\n<p><strong>When<\/strong>: August 2012<\/p>\n<p>A little under a year ago today, we received our first, authentic look at the Nike KD V on the set of NBA 2K13, of all places. Sample pics were wrongly judged before this, but Durant wearing them casually on this commercial set gave us somewhat of a clear look at the versatility of the KD V even before it hit the court.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h3>Kevin Durant Debuts KD V On Court in Preseason Game<\/h3>\n<p><strong>When<\/strong>: October 2012<\/p>\n<p>Our first on-court shot of the Nike KD V came in the Thunder&#8217;s third preseason game of the year against the Charlotte Bobcats. It was also our first look at the clean &#8220;Home&#8221; Nike KD V PE, which is very similar to the &#8220;Home&#8221; KD V that released in January of 2013 yet different brand and sole coloring. This would be the start of a limitless amount of KD Vs on court by Durant and many others around the league.<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h3>Wale Debuts Nike KD V &#8220;DMV&#8221;<\/h3>\n<p><strong>When<\/strong>: Late October 2012<\/p>\n<p>Who else but Wale? It was no surprise that Wale debuted the &#8220;DMV&#8221; KD V on foot before Durant did seeing that he has a history of rocking basketball shoes before your favorite player receives them. Specifically, he was spotted, alongside members of Travis Porter, wearing the DMVs before any KD V released to the public &#8211; keep in mind, the DMV Vs dropped in mid-December. Must be nice.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h3>Kevin Durant Hints at &#8220;Incredible Hulk&#8221; KD V<\/h3>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/5vxJID7mNWQ?list=PL5miUvtcE1HSwz_KTz9XwmD8FYVotb-hk\" height=\"421\" width=\"748\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>When<\/strong>: Early November 2012<\/p>\n<p>Following the Thunder&#8217;s first game of the 2012-2013 NBA season, we caught up with Durant to discuss everything about the KD V. He shed light on more than we asked for by hinting at the then-upcoming &#8220;Incredible Hulk&#8221; KD V and a certain low-top shoe that he would wear later on in the season. The &#8220;Hulk&#8221; KD Vs would go on to release in the beginning of March, and that low top he referred to &#8211; well, let&#8217;s just say it was part of an &#8216;elite&#8217; series.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h3>Nike KD V Hits NIKEiD<\/h3>\n<p><strong>When<\/strong>: Early November 2012<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s where the KD V began to gain an abundance of traction. Its initiation on NIKEiD showed how well the KD V color-blocked, and 1-of-1s began to show up on Instagram accounts, on court and everywhere else. The glow-in-the-dark option also helped the KD V&#8217;s presence grow. In a creative and unique marketing scheme, Nike even had Durant design iD creations for some of his biggest fans.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h3>Kevin Durant Honors Newtown, Connecticut Victims with Shoes<\/h3>\n<p><strong>When<\/strong>: Mid December 2012<\/p>\n<p>The KD V went from sneaker blogs to national news sites when Kevin Durant honored the Newtown, Connecticut victims with script on his shoes. Others followed, but Durant was the first to show his support through sneakers.<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h3>Jay-Z Christmas Eve Shopping in the Nike KD V &#8220;DMV&#8221;<\/h3>\n<p><strong>When<\/strong>: Christmas Eve<\/p>\n<p>Although the &#8220;All-Star&#8221; KD V was on the tip of everybody&#8217;s tongue, Jay-Z turned heads after being spotted in the &#8220;DMV&#8221; KD V on Christmas Eve. Was this foreshadowing what just happened between Jay-Z and Kevin Durant just last week? Probably not. However, Jay-Z rocking Durants was kind of a big deal considering we never, ever see the Roc Boy in KDs.<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h3>Kevin Durant Debuts &#8220;Christmas&#8221; Nike KD V<\/h3>\n<p><strong>When<\/strong>: Christmas Day, 2012<\/p>\n<p>A day later, Durant took to the court in the &#8220;Christmas&#8221; KD V during his first meeting against the Heat since the 2012 NBA Finals. The Christmas KD V is still considered one of, if not the best KD V to release and was selected by most as the best shoe in the Christmas collection. Following his debut on Christmas Day, this KD V released at select retailers.<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h3>The Release of the Nike KD V &#8220;Energy&#8221;<\/h3>\n<p><strong>When<\/strong>: Late December 2012<\/p>\n<p>Just days after the All-Star release, Nike dropped the &#8220;Energy&#8221; KD V on the last day of 2012. While it didn&#8217;t garner as much attention as the All-Star and DMV colorways, the Energy colorway continued to alter people&#8217;s minds, positively, about Durant&#8217;s fifth signature shoe.<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h3>The Release of the Nike KD V &#8220;Black History Month&#8221;<\/h3>\n<p><strong>When<\/strong>: Late January, 2012<\/p>\n<p>One of the more popular colorways of this year, the Black History Month KD V was undoubtedly a welcomed release at the end of January. While most players wore their Black History Month shoes on MLK Day, Durant waited until four days after to debut the Black History Month KD V &#8211; only for one half.<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h3>KD is Not Nice<\/h3>\n<p><strong>When<\/strong>: Early February, 2013<\/p>\n<p>The <em>KD is Not Nice<\/em> campaign kicked off at the beginning of February and featured a commercial of the young star wearing the &#8220;Ice Blue&#8221; KD V. Along with the aforementioned colorway of the KD V, Nike unleashed a jacket, two shirts, a backpack, shorts and a pair of socks with a similar color scheme. As for the campaign, we don&#8217;t know if it was done purposely, but KD did some of the meanest things during the month of February, including a torching of the Mavs (52 points) and an overall month average of 31.6 points per game. KD <em>is<\/em> nice.<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h3>Kevin Durant Reveals the Nike KD V &#8220;Aunt Pearl&#8221; via Instagram<\/h3>\n\n<p><strong>When<\/strong>: Mid February, 2013<\/p>\n<p>Days before the 2013 NBA All-Star Game, Durant took to Instagram to debut the &#8220;Aunt Pearl&#8221; KD V to many people&#8217;s excitement. After the success of the &#8220;Aunt Pearl&#8221; KD IV, it was only right for Nike to return with an Aunt Pearl-inspired color scheme on the latest model. A month later, Nike would release this V.<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h3>The release of the Nike KD V &#8220;Extraterrestrial&#8221;<\/h3>\n<p><strong>When<\/strong>: Mid February, 2013<\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;Extraterrestrial&#8221; Nike Basketball All-Star Collection featured loud and extremely colorful colorways of the Kobe 8, LeBron X ans KD V, and the latter was, again, largely deemed the best of the trifecta.<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h3>Kevin Durant Talks KD V Elite and Shares Details on KD VI<\/h3>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/GDG1NTuAf3Q\" height=\"421\" width=\"748\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>When<\/strong>: Early March 2013<\/p>\n<p>In our second convo of the season with Kevin Durant, the KD V Elite was discussed again in length. He also touched on the KD VI for the first and confirmed that it would be a low top. Three days later, Nike unveiled the KD V Elite for the first time.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h3>The Release of the Nike KD V &#8220;Easter&#8221;<\/h3>\n<p><strong>When<\/strong>: Late March, 2013<\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;Easter&#8221; KD V was part of the last three-sneaker collection that included the KD V, the LeBron X, and the Kobe 8. Its teal color scheme made it one of the loudest KD V colorways to release this season.<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h3>Kevin Durant Records Triple Double in Debut of Nike KD V N7<\/h3>\n<p><strong>When<\/strong>: Mid April, 2013<\/p>\n<p>The Nike KD V N7 was one of the more special colorways of Durant&#8217;s fifth signature model. Nike made an announcement about KD debuting these on court the morning before the game against Golden State. KD went on to bring more attention to the N7 KD V by recording a triple double in its debut. Nike followed that up a release of the N7 KD V just two days after the debut.<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h3>Nike Releases the KD V Elite<\/h3>\n<p><strong>When<\/strong>: Mid April 2013<\/p>\n<p>Nike and Kevin Durant transitioned to a low top for the 2013 NBA Playoffs and released the Elite to the public the day before the postseason began.<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h3>JR Smith Debuts EYBL Nike KD V Elite<\/h3>\n<p><strong>When<\/strong>: Late April, 2013<\/p>\n<p>The last, special KD moment happened on court but not by way of Kevin Durant&#8217;s feet.
