This July, My 5 on Snkrs Day is focusing on store owners and managers at some of the best boutiques in the biz. We start in the Windy City, with Regular Ol Ty of LEADERS 1354. Besides helping make LEADERS one of the best boutiques and brands in the sneaker realm over the past decade (they celebrate 11 years in August), Ty is also well known for his distinct style and deep/diverse collection of kicks. We caught up with Ty to hear what he’s rocking this summer in Chicago. Read on to find out.

Regular Ol Ty: “I wore the JBF Custom 1s to the Jordan Brand All-American Game this past April and also to Nike’s Sneaker Ball in February. Everywhere I go everyone loves them. They always want to touch them and ask how he did it. I tell them he takes everything apart and puts it back together . It’s not like he’s putting the fabric on top of them, he’s actually taking them apart. Jake had done a pair of “Black Python” Jordan 4s for Revis and I had just got those 1s so I hit him up and he did them for me. For all other Jordan 1 occasions, the forgotten RTTGs are clutch. Both work with shorts and denim.”

Regular Ol Ty: “I remember my buddy LeAndre use to cut my hair with those shoes. I had always wanted those and I missed them every time they came back out. When they came out overseas a few months ago I had to make sure I got a pair of those. My homegirl Bianca had them and I loved them. She’s awesome and these shoes are too.”

Regular Ol Ty: “I saw those online in December of 2011 and thought they were so cold. I knew they weren’t coming out here. I happened to go overseas to Foot Patrol and I missed them, so I just chopped it up as a loss. Earlier this year, one of my buddies from London said he got something for me and he sent them over.”

Regular Ol Ty: “I like adidas, I like Bape, I like UNDFTD, so it was a must grab. I ended up getting four pairs of the ZX5000s and one of each of the Campus.”

Regular Ol Ty: “I like madras print and they did a really good job of incorporating that with a vintage style shoe. Stussy always comes correct when they do their collaborations. I ended up getting one of the two from one of my buddies in Asia. Having people overseas always helps.”

Keep up with Ty on Twitter and Instagram.
