Lakers fans are still pretty happy about yet another NBA Championship to add to the rafters. The last time the Lakers took home the Larry O’Brien trophy, the timing could not have been better with the release of an LA edition Air Force 1. Nike released an LA makeup of the Air Force 1 in the summer of 2001 (another championship year) and with the release of a second city series LA Air Force 1 and a second consecutive NBA championship, it looked like shoes were good luck to the city and the team.?

This version dubbed the “LA 2” by many was a retooled version of a general release with Nike LA branding on the tongue tag and stitched on the rear panel of the sneaker. A funny factoid about this shoe however was a mishap with many pairs where the LA was stitched backwards onto the sneaker landing at the outlets as B-Grades.

With another NBA Championship has LA earned another city series AF1?

?

|
