“Would you rather be QUICK or FAST on the court?” – adidas Basketball

adidas Basketball asked the question posted above on Facebook a couple of days ago, and the majority of the responses chose the former – which means adidas’ latest launch should peak the interest of many from latest line’s name alone.?The Three Stripes brand officially introduced the adidas CrazyQuick line yesterday in New York City. CrazyQuick is designed to make athletes quicker with a focus on flexibility, lockdown and traction.

With John Wall,?adidas Advanced Footwear Category Designer Robbie Fuller and?adidas Global Innovation Head of A.I.T. Al Van Noy on hand for the launch, specifics about the CrazyQuick’s performance capabilities were relayed to media in an extremely CrazyQuick-branded area in adidas’ showroom.?

“We talked to a lot of athletes, and they all want to create space from their opponents,” said Fuller. “Therefore, quickness is the thing we wanted to maximize to achieve that space creation. The CrazyQuick is not just a group of parts – every single part of the shoe works together to allow the other parts to perform at the highest level they can to achieve that quickness.”

Fuller also touched on his early sketches of the CrazyQuick, a few athletes sneaking the CrazyQuick on court and on field months before the brand’s release, and how he compares the CrazyQuick’s extremely flexible bottom to a centipede (he stated that the “many pods work together to do one job”).

Wall, who came to the launch following our wear testing of the CrazyQuick, discussed his debut of the shoe a few nights ago on court.

“It’s really a comfortable shoe and has great traction for me to stop-and-start without losing seconds,” Wall said. “You’ll be seeing me in this shoe a lot in different colors throughout the rest of the season.”
