February is known as an extremely hot month for sneaker releases. Take a second to think about all the heat that has dropped so far this month. Though it may seem a recent trend, heat dropping in February is not a new phenomenon. Some of our favorite sneakers have dropped in the shortest month of the year. Click through the images as Snkrs Day takes A Look Back at Popular February Sneaker Releases.?What are your favorite shoes to drop in the month of February in past years?

Carmelo Anthony wore a similar PE pair during his rookie season in 2004, but the original colorway dropped for the ladies in February of that year.

Year: 2004 The Nike “Area 72” Campaign surrounding this year’s NBA All-Star game revisited the theme, but the original “Rayguns” squad featured the likes of Vince Carter, Baron Davis, and Paul Pierce. The fictional team was commemorated by fairly rare “Home” and “Away” colorways of Nike SB Dunks.

Year: 2005

The Nike Air Force 1 was always a favorite silhouette, but the red and white patent leather on this shoe had men skipping dinner dates to cop a pair.

Year: 2006 With the NBA All-Star game being in Las Vegas, it was only right that the shoes matched the flashy lights of “Sin City.” It’s a shame LeBron didn’t wear these in the actual game.

Year: 2007 The “Eggplant” Foams are one of the colors at the forefront of the Foamposite resurgence. The shoe was so popular, the exact color returned to shelves with only minor changes one year later.

Year: 2009 Monotone sneakers were a theme in the 2010 NBA All-Star game, but the bright blue 3M material that graced LeBron’s sneakers stood out above the rest. These are still a favorite in many collections.

Year: 2010 The resale value alone should be enough to explain the importance of the “Copper” Foamposites. There are not many shoes that turn heads the way these do. Kevin Durant made the transition from All-Star reserve to starting lineup regular, and his shoes had to take a step up as well. The KD 3 was slept on at the time, but some ballers still regard them as the most comfortable KD signature to date.

Year: 2011 Jordan Brand is a staple in “Black History Month” sneaker releases. Despite some recent flashy color schemes, the subtle makeup of the Air Jordan 3 “Black History Month” was the perfect compliment to a popular model. There is nothing like the original. When Foamposites come to mind, this is usually the colorway first thought of. They flew off shelves back then, and probably will every time they release.

Year: 2011 New Balance collaborations are the stuff of legends. The sandy feel of the “Dune” 997 puts this particular shoe right at the top of that list.

Year: 2012 Nike Basketball usually goes above and beyond for their athletes participating in the NBA All-Star weekend festivities. The bar was set high for the Orlando game, as the galaxy theme caused all three shoes to sell out instantly.

Year: 2012 One year after the “Dark Neon Royal” Foams released, Nike unveiled a red colorway that had sneakerheads going crazy. The extra shine on the foamposite material was enough to make this sneaker a must have.

Year: 2012 In terms of Jeremy Scott collaborations, these are pretty tame. However, they stand out when worn, and are one of the most popular pairs in the Jeremy Scott x adidas Originals line.

Year: 2012 Is there anything that needs to be said about this shoe? The lineups and still high resell price speaks to how popular this sneaker was, and still is. The “Galaxy” Foams may be the most popular February sneaker release of all time.

Year: 2012

[618,49
1225462,1208780,1225736,1225494

2":"type-post

Air Jordan 12 WMNS White/University Blue
