During what many consider the “Golden Era,” Charles Barkley went from the face that defined Force to the name stamped on some of the biggest, boldest and baddest Nikes. Nestled between marquee Swoosh models and a recent run of hybrids lies one of the best and longest signature lines to ever grace the hardwood or the blacktop. In celebration of Chuck’s 50th birthday, we recap his entire signature shoe line and the moments he made in them.

Year Released: 1994 Coming off an MVP campaign, NBA Finals appearance and the retirement of Michael Jordan, the time was right (and overdue) for Charles Barkley to get his first signature shoe. The Nike Air Force Max CB capitalized on the success of the Fab Five co-signed shoe, adding Chuck’s initials and crisscrossed straps to the Force favorite.

Year Released: 1994 Barkley’s best? The Nike Air Max CB ’94 was a statement shoe for Sir Charles and Nike hoops. Using straight jacket style lockdown, an inner bootie and Air Max2 cushioning, the shoe was daring, functional and comfortable. Chuck rocked this model for the entire 1994 playoffs, in the 1995 All-Star Game and through out the ’94-’95 regular season.

Year Released: 1995 Much like its predecessor, the Nike Air Max CB34 saw early fame in the playoffs. A bulky build expanded upon the ’94 favorite, taking down the top, going back to a midfoot strap and sporting a funky midsole. Charles sported a white based makeup in the ’95 postseason and later rocked the Black/Purple colorway in the ’96 All-Star Game.

Year Released: 1996 A team trade and number switch kept the Nike Air CB34 II from getting burn in the dessert. Still, the shoes released and Barkley donned a White/Navy PE en route to another Gold Medal in Atlanta.

Year Released: 1997 The Nike Air CB4 broke the mold of previous Sir Charles sneakers, but packed the same attitude. Jagged lines graced the upper, while Houston colors reigned over Phoenix. This model also debuted during the 1996 Olympics, with Barkley later wearing the CB4 from start to finish in his first season with the Rockets.

Year Released: 1997 Lower and wavier than previous signatures, the Nike Air Super CB packed less obvious Barkley inspiration but still made for a pretty sweet shoe. Triple stacked branding and Houston hues appeared on the sneaker Chuck sported for most of the ’97-’98 season.

Year Released: 1998 Charles Barkley’s last signature shoe would be worn for a short period of time during the end of the 1998 season. Sporting the most Air since the rarely worn CB34 II, the Nike Air CB4 II carried over the wavy lines and progressive cut previewed on the Super CB. Barkley would finish out his last two shortened seasons on his own terms, going back to Force models and also wearing the Air Jordan 14. Take a look at all of Chuck’s signatures below, and let us know your favorite in the poll and comment section.

[polldaddy poll=6909620]

During what many consider the “Golden Era,” Charles Barkley went from the face that defined Force to the name stamped on some of the biggest, boldest and baddest Nikes.
