The 2012-2013 NBA season has been amazing when it comes to Kicks On Court. From the first night when Rondo debuted the “Pink” Foams, to Russell Westbrook’s debut of a new XX8 in last night’s game, we’ve seen some incredible stuff surface on court. With the first half of the season now behind us, we rank the 10 players in the running for the 2012-2013 Kicks On Court Champion. Here, we have spots 6-10. Check back later today, as we reveal spots 1-5 in today’s episode of Kicks On Court Weekly Recap.

Remember, the five categories we judge by are,?Debuts,?Variety,?iDs/PEs,?Element of Surprise and Closet Appeal.

While in Memphis, Rudy Gay kept it very simple by mainly rocking his Nike Air Max Hyperposite PEs; however, since his move to Toronto, Rudy has worn a new pair of shoes every single game with the first being the Air Jordan 6 “Carmine.” Look for him to climb the list during the second half of the season.

Iman Shumpert started the season late due to injury, but in his short stint with the Knicks this season, he has already turned heads by wearing the adidas T-Mac, his very own Top Ten 2000 player exclusive, and a couple of colorways of the Crazy 8. The biggest shocker came when he laced up the Jeremy Scott Streetball. He told you here that he’s wild enough to wear anything on court, so stay tuned.

PJ Tucker is one of the dark horses on this list. Quietly, he’s brought some intriguing sneakers to the court, including a couple of Barkleys and NIKEiDs. He’s also premiered a few sneakers, including the Nike KD V “DMV,” a shoe he said the NBA fined him for. If you’re putting your money on the line for the Kicks On Court Champion award, you deserve some mention.

Much like Iman Shumpert, Rajon Rondo’s stint was cut short due to injury. Yet, during his games this season, Rondo wore and debuted a lot of heat. He is responsible for debuting the “Stealth Foams, the “Pink” Foams and the “Cool Grey Air Jordan 9 2012 retro. Also, his Hyperposite player exclusives can’t be touched. Although others may surpass him on the list, you have to wonder how high he would have been at the end of the season if the injury didn’t happen.

Pay attention to Michael Beasley. He has quietly worn some classic Jordans and just recently started to add a little variety with the Nike Zoom LeBron IV. He’s also putting out some intriguing Spizike iDs. We all know the Suns color scheme looks good on just about any shoe, so there is potential here. A wear of the “Galaxy” Foams, the “Nerf” KD IV or the upcoming “Suns” Foams could take him to the top 5 on this list in no time.

Variety, variety and more variety – J.R. Smith has that. Smith has rocked a healthy diet of Jordans, Melos, Kobes, Durants and Pennys. He’s rocked just about every Nike line you can think of. A little more ‘Closet Appeal’ would be nice seeing that he’s wearing mostly recent stuff, but his variety will continue to be noted here.

Within the first month and a half of the season, Nate Robinson was in the lead for Kicks On Court Champion, but somewhere in between now and then, he decided to stick with the “Flu Game” 12s for road games and the “Rising Sun” 12s for home games. Nevertheless, he has one of the biggest ‘Closet Appeal’ wears and biggest ‘Element of Surprise’ with wears of the Air Jordan 7 “Miro” and rocking three different Jordans in one game, respectively.

Check out rankings 6-10 of our Kicks On Court Champion nominees for the first half of the season.

[835
1225551

2":"type-post

#10 (tie) – Rudy Gay
