Sneakers garner an abundance of interest through color these days (ex. “Chicago Fire” adidas Rose 3, “Weatherman” Nike Zoom KD IV). Expect the Li-Ning Way of Wade to follow suit. During our conference call with Li-Ning, executive Brian Cupps mentioned that Wade’s signature will be seen in multiple story-telling color schemes throughout the season, including one that is inspired by a certain type of animal Dwyane Wade resonates with. Wade himself also stated that the brand will be “switching it (Way of Wade) up for special moments and special games throughout the season,” and some will sport tumbled leather and/or patent leather.

February is a huge month for sneaker releases/debuts (NBA All-Star Weekend, Valentine’s Day, Black History Month), so why not drop something creative in arguably the hottest month for shoe drops? Brian Cupps again hinted at something huge the brand has in store for All-Star Weekend in Houston this season.

As Chief Brand Officer, Dwyane Wade stated that his job is to help build the brand. “I want to grow my own brand, but as time goes on, I want to help influence other athletes to ?join the Li-Ning brand,” said Wade. “My job is not just to wear sneakers.” Wade said the ability to get others to the Li-Ning brand will depend on how well the Li-Ning-produced product is received; however, he also mentioned that he will have his eye on a few players that he plans to recruit to the Li-Ning throughout the season. If Li-Ning creates positive energy behind the Wade line, expect others to follow in Wade’s footsteps and #makethechange.

This is good news for sneaker enthusiasts who refuse to spend close to $200 for a signature sneaker. The Li-Ning Way of Wade is expected to retail at or around $120. This will make Wade’s signature one of the lowest priced signatures on the market. Whether this is a great buy or not depends on how the Way of Wade plays. Stay tuned.

Dwyane Wade’s sense of fashion has, and will continue to be, incorporated in every single thing he’s a part of now. He has shown that he’s not obliged to wearing suits with sneakers, and he makes appearances at fashion shows on the regular during offseason. Li-Ning Creative Director of Basketball Eric Miller informed us that the Wade line will consistently draw inspiration from his style preference.?”Dwyane’s got a highly-tuned sense of style and performance in what he needs from an on-court perspective and from a style standpoint,” said Miller. Note that the tongue is inspired by a?GQ?shoot Dwyane did with the beloved magazine. It won’t stop there.

Thanks to Li-Ning for including us in on the conference call.

[618,1225528
279372,1225529,1211540

2":"type-post
