After an amazing year making the All-Star team, averaging a double-double (with assists), and helping bring home the Gold, Jordan Brand has another signature shoe for Chris Paul. Jordan Brand’s Senior Footwear Designer Jason Mayden designed Chris Paul’s second signature shoe, the Jordan CP3.II (“C-P three point two”) for what many would argue to be the game’s best point-guard.

The Jordan CP3.II made its public debut in limited numbers, but many of you have been asking how the shoes perform leading up to the nationwide release tomorrow, March 14th.?? Snkrs Day put the the new Jordan CP3.II to the test and the results are in!??

Click here to see how they performed as well as some detailed shots of the Jordan CP3.II.

Jordan CP3.II

Jordan CP3.II
Jordan CP3.II

Jordan CP3.II

Jordan CP3.II

Jordan CP3.II

Jordan CP3.II

Jordan CP3.II

Jordan CP3.II

Jordan CP3 II Performance Review – Nick Engvall

“This is how a shoe should fit to your foot” is the first thought when I put on the Jordan CP3.II. The shoes hug your feet. In saying that, I don’t mean that the shoes run small, I mean literally hug your feet. The strap that runs across the top of the forefoot through the tongue is much more noticeable in holding the shoe close to your foot than other sneakers. The ankle area of the shoes are designed in a way that their is no space or “slop” whatsoever. The Achilles support pads are near perfect in supporting your ankle, combined with the NuFoam ankle area really makes the shoe literally fit like a glove.

Putting it to the test started outdoors, where most shoes lose points with herringbone traction.?? The CP3.II’s chevron pattern traction pattern is more aggressive and its deeper ridges gives the shoes much better grip on the blacktop than most of its competition. Taking them back inside onto the hardwood, the CP3.II does not miss a beat.?? After wearing the shoes outdoors, I had my reservations about how it would perform indoors because most shoes do well in one place and not the other, not the CP3.II.

The shoes follow your every move, in fact in a way they seem to be half a step ahead of you due to the outriggers on the forefoot. It’s as if the shoe has anticipated your cut back to the other side and responds with a simple “I got you” affirmation as you plant your lead foot to cross up your opponent. Part of that most likely comes from the flex groove in the forefoot area of the sole as well or perhaps the plates that run through the midfoot area. Overall the responsiveness of the shoe is top notch, very much parallel to Chris Paul’s game.

Cushioning is great.?? The Zoom Air in the forefoot is what you would expect as far as comfort and performance in a shoe for one of the NBA’s top athletes. The heel area uses a Dual Hardness Injected Phylon which works well giving cushioning to the heel without losing seconds in soft cushioning. It’s a unique feeling, different from the forefoot, in that it is a touch stiffer than the Zoom Air, but also adds to the stability of the heel area. For someone like myself, this works out great in a couple of ways. Back peddling on defense, and added durability as well.

If their is any downside to the Jordan CP3.II, it is noticeably hot when playing. The shoe could use some improvement in the breathablility department. This is probably due to a combination of the use of patent leather and nubuck. This reminds me of playing Jordan XI which used a similar treatment of patent leather and also plays very warm on your feet.

The CP3.II is one of the best performing shoes I’ve played in to date. If my first thought was “this is how a shoe should fit to your foot”, then after playing in the shoe, I have to say “this is how a basketball shoe should perform.”?? Tip of the hat to Jordan Brand for this shoe.

Jordan CP3 II Performance Review – George Kiel III

Chris Paul’s game involves a lot of changing directions and speed. In the New Orleans “organized playground”, he splits screens at the top of the key and drives in and out of traffic effortlessly. In addition, he sits atop the NBA steals leaders list. With that said, Jordan Brand Senior Footwear Designer Jason Mayden was forced to create a specific kind of durable, lightweight sneaker that meets Paul’s preference of performance.

At a first glance, the Jordan CP3.II, Chris Paul’s second signature shoe, resembles the Jordan Melo M5; however, throughout our Performance Review, we noticed major differences between the two in that the CP3 II incorporates special features designed for Chris Paul solely. For example, Chris Paul supposedly drags his toes when he instantly changes direction, therefore, in order to protect the shoe from a lot of rigor, the toe box contains special abrasion dots to intensify Paul’s durability. In addition, JB took into consideration that ‘CP’ owns one of the more explosive games in the world as well. With that in mind, JB added a compacted, sleeve-like fit called NuFoam for the first time in Jordan sneaker history. This feature, along with the Achilles heel support pads, keeps the ankle protected to aid a dynamic game like Paul’s. However, one of the better details on this sneaker is the second-to-none chevron traction it possesses. This trait draws inspiration from the sport of Futsal which?? is an indoor version of five-versus-five soccer. The cleat-like grip is perfect for Paul’s stop-and-start antics on the hardwood. Also assisting his change-of-direction-heavy game are primary and secondary lateral outriggers which help with cutting, stability and staying atop his toes. Although this sneaker keeps Paul on his tippies, it still provides a solid foundation through the midfoot shank arch plate. As for comfort, the Dual-density Hardness Injection Phylon (DHIP) technology supports the heel perfectly, while the forefoot contains Nike Zoom Air.

The design features are very unique and inspired by happenings and surroundings in CP3’s life. For example, the vivid colorway (Black/Court Purple/Sunstone-Orion Blue) pays tribute to the New Orleans/Mardi Gras tradition. In addition the number 61, honoring his late grandfather’s age, appears on the heel along with his birth date, his brother’s birth date and the name of his late college coach. Other details include his parents’ names and nods to his faith.

If I had to point out a ONE weak spot in this sneaker, I would point out the humidity of the foot after playing in it. The breathability of the sneaker could use an upgrade; however, if you take in consideration that this sneaker scores well in stability, comfort and support, can you really complain about anything. Overall, the Jordan CP3.II is one of the best basketball sneakers on the market, and, undoubtedly a shoe that is a tremendous value at its price of $118.

After an amazing year making the All-Star team, averaging a double-double (with assists), and helping bring home the Gold, Jordan…

[1
1706,1791

2":"type-post

|
