Wu-Tang Clan ain’t nothing to mess with and neither is the Chef’s sneaker stock. A style setter in one of hip-hop’s most influential groups, Raekwon’s footwear fascinations cover the entire spectrum. Made up of straight classics, check out his current sneaker rotation in the latest installment of My 5.

Raekwon: “The first originals, with the black and red pieces, are in my rotation. I had never seen a sneaker like that when they released. We went all around the world to get that sneaker. That was back in the Hawaiian shirt days!”

Raekwon: “The white on white is my favorite shoe because it’s so basic, but still a fly kick that you can wear anywhere. Back in the days, I used to rock the black on blacks; those were hard body, but it’s nothing like a pair of white on whites. The problem is they get crusted in six hours. You only have 20 minutes to live in them.”

Raekwon: “MY A-D-I-D-A-S! If you didn’t have a pair of adidas, I don’t know what to tell you. I had the white ones with the black stripe, before the colors started to come.” Raekwon: “This was when Jordan was in his prime – all black, all suede, and they were high top with a clear bottom. Yeah, those are one of my favorite. I remember when I was like, ‘I have to go get these.’ Then, when I came back to the town, it was like, ‘Wait until I pull out the Maserati tonight.'” Raekwon: “You had to be getting money to rock these because they were still $400 back then. They just showed a level of status. If you have on Gucci shoes then you must have some coins. It was a style thing and a level of respect type of shoe.”

Air Jordan 1 Black/Red
