Gilbert Arenas, last year’s Kicks On Court champion, finally headlines our column this season in a shoe you would never imagine seeing on the hardwood. Yet, after seeing him hit the court in Dolce & Gabanna shoes, snakeskin sneakers and FILAs last season, we can now expect the unexpected. In yesterday’s game against the New Orleans Hornets, Arenas laced up a black and white Nike Air Trainer Classic. Although this shoe provides adequate cushioning, support and traction, it’s not necessarily a basketball shoe.

On the other hand, LeBron James sported the made-for-basketball?Nike LeBron 9 Low in the Heat’s win against the Knicks last night. This debut comes two days after King James wore the Nike Air Max Ambassador IV for the first time on court.

Check out photos of these shoes, in addition to the footwear selections of Carmelo Anthony, Delonte West and Derrick Rose, in today’s Kicks On Court edition.
