You know the story, or maybe you don’t. Back in ’93, a famous basketball player (at that point maybe the best ever) retires at the top of his game to play baseball. His days on the hardwood are considered over and his sneaker line is thus finished. To commemorate his achievements and keep his name in the game, Nike released the Air Jordan 10 in a “City Series” collection during 1995. The colorways coincide with the franchises that host some of Mike’s then-favorite emerging talent.

Now you know the story. Its time you know the sneakers and the players that sported them. Snkrs Day recaps 1995’s famed “City Series” and the unofficial sixth member. Which Is Your Favorite “City Series” Air Jordan 10?

Colorway: Chicago The man, the wingman, and the man-child, all laced up the “Chicago” 10s. Scottie and Mike sported them early on in the return run while PEs were shipped to Harold Miner aka Baby Jordan’s Miami crib.

Colorway: Orlando With Penny blossoming into his own star role at Nike, the “Orlando” Jordan 10s received endorsement from Nick Anderson. All was good until the Magic got the best of MJ in his postseason return. Awkward.

Colorway: Sacramento Nike showed Cali love on the regional release of the “Sacramento” 10s. The retail pair sported a black base and featured sort of a contrasting colorway to Mitch’s PEs.

Colorway: Seattle Long before Vin Baker or Sugar Ray laced up PEs in the coffee capital, it was Kendall Gill who reigned as JB ambassador. Having played amateur ball in MJ’s work state, the high-flying shooting guard was gifted a pair of these.

Colorway: New York Almost identical to the Orlando makeup, the orange branded outsole was a hit. The Carolina connection gave Hubert Davis a pair of PEs, while the GRs gave MJ fans a pair of Airs to rock with their Ewing or Starks jersey.

Colorway: Charlotte Hornets ties and Carolina roots made the “Charlotte” 10s an unofficial member of the City Series by association. These are often mentioned to be a part of the “City Series”, but the “Powder Blue” 10 simply pays homage to Chapel Hill and were a follow-up to the “Powder Blue” IXs. These were released nationwide and sported locally by Chapel Hill hooper Jerry Stackhouse.

[polldaddy poll=5857481]

[618
1225669,1204907

2":"type-post

Air Jordan 10 “Chicago”
