However, we still received some big news such as the official presentation of the <a href=\"\/air-jordan-2009-unveiled\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">Air Jordan 2009<\/a>, exclusive photos of the <a href=\"\/nike-air-half-cent-penny\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">Nike Air 1\/2 Cent<\/a>, Kanye West&#8217;s <a href=\"\/kanye-west-for-louis-vuitton-shoes-revealed\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">Louis Vuitton<\/a> sneaker and a few of the <a href=\"\/adidas-spring-2009-preview\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">60th Anniversary Adidas<\/a> releases. With that said, our staff still had a lot to choose from.<\/p>\n<p>Click the jump to read the analysis of our staff picks for week 17. What was your favorite sneaker of the week?<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><!--nextpage--><br \/>\n<strong>Converse 100th Anniversary &#8220;Shoes in Books&#8221; Pack &#8211; Nick Engvall<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">This week was a tough pick for me. The Vans Usugrow and Robert WIlliams packs, because both of them are inspirational to me in the art world, but in the streetwear culture as well. However the History of Converse and the Chuck Taylor is packaged so creatively that I had to go with the Shoes in Books Chucks. I can just see having these on the bookshelf, and somebody picking it up and being amazed by it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><!--nextpage--><strong>Nike Air 1\/2 Cent &#8211; George Kiel<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> <\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\n<p>Unintentionally, this is my second Penny sneaker in as many weeks. Penny&#8217;s signature sneaker has always been my favorite next to MJ, therefore, a sneaker combining all Penny&#8217;s kicks is a definite favorite of mine. Plus, in my opinion, I think the Nike Air 1\/2 Cent may be the best hybrid I have ever seen. The Foamposite material is second to none.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><!--nextpage--><br \/>\n<strong>&#8220;Think Pink&#8221; Nike Hyperdunk &#8211; Greg Grovey<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">This week I choose the Kay Yow Pink Hyperdunks because the money generated from these will go to help the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. The subject of cancer is one near and dear to my heart because I know people who have been affected by it. Therefore, buying a dope sneaker such as the Hyperdunk and helping a Cancer foundation is a win, win situation for me.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><!--nextpage--><br \/>\n<strong>Nike Air Pegasus &#8217;89 Retro &#8211; Peter Sim<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I am so glad Nike is getting back on their Retro Running steez this year especially with the Air Pegasus 89 because it was the very first runner I ever owned.?? It was light, sleek, and such a fresh shoe.?? I do remember that the leather on the upper was slightly more Vintage Daybreak-esque, lookin like a worn-out fleece hoody, but the mesh toe box and the vivid blue seem to be intact.?? I will definitely be picking up both colorways when they drop.??
