There was grey for George, and the theoretical for Alex. What would Ian and Albert choose this week? Your favorite bunch of sneaker writers each found something they liked; what about you? Let us know the best sneaker you saw all week in the comments section.

George Kiel III

Metallic Dark Grey is something I’ve never seen on any shoe. It’s almost like a contradicting color scheme. Grey is subtle, yet anything metallic is usually vibrant. Nevertheless, I really like this color scheme. Nike should use it more often.

Nike Air Griffey Max II “Metallic Dark Grey”

I still think the “Red Carpet” Air Max LeBron VII is one of the best Brons ever, and that colorway works really well on the 9, too. But since we probably won’t get anything similar to this at retail, I’ll probably head over to NIKEiD. The only problem I’m having is deciding whether I want to go with the super wearable grey, black or white colorway, or have fun and go all-out with yellows, pinks and reds. There’s something appealing about having the brightest shoes at the gym to offset having the slowest feet and worst jumpshot.

9 Nice 9s: Colorways We’d Like to See on the Nike LeBron 9

Ian Stonebrook

True story: these were my basketball shoes in fifth grade. Truer story: I used to have nightmares before games because they were so heavy. The Foamposite Max will always be a special shoe to me, but I?m not sure if going up a size to get them on sale was worth the sleepless nights or the game I dribbled the ball off my toe. It?ll be a game time decision as to whether I pick up the retros, but they definitely won?t be worn in any pick up game. Shout out to my cousin Dustin if he still has the OGs.

Nike Total Air Foamposite Max “Metallic Silver”

Albert Lin

Nike Skateboarding has really stepped up lately. Releases have begun to resemble the “glory” days with great themes, materials and colors. I especially like the October Nike SB Dunk Low “Roller Derby” Quickstrike. The red and white really compliment each other great and the marbled leather toe box is a look unlike any I’ve seen in the past. I will be looking for a pair of these in size 10.

We picked our favorites of the week.
