Just days ago, the Nike LeBron 9 was officially debuted. A Zoom Air and Max Air cushioned, Flywire constructed and textile weave sporting sneaker, the latest addition to the LeBron line is Petrie perfection. And though we don?t have an NBA season to look forward to yet, Nike has still teased us with some of the great colorways to anticipate, as well as the news that we?ll be able to design our own.

But what about some of the classic colorways we?ve come to expect from LBJ and the Nike Basketball team? Whether they?ve honored his hometown hoops squad or Crockett and Tubbs? campy 80s careers, color stories make the King?s kicks so much of what they?ve been and will continue to be. So with a little imagination and loads of inspiration, we designed nine LeBron 9s that we?d love to see release soon.

RELATED: Nike LeBron 9 Officially Unveiled | Nike LeBron 9 iD Template

The comments section was on fire when the Miami Night LeBron 8s were first seen, but readers were eventually won over as the splatter-covered kicks began to appear more and more. Certainly, this colorway isn?t for everyone, but Bron?s brand new shoes need a bold start to their NBA-less lifetime.

Never forget where you?re from. This concept has always been a point of pride for LeBron, who has a long history of being laced and lacing current players at his alma mater in the regal Saint Vincent-Saint Mary colors. Don?t be surprised later if we find out the prep school players? are being treated to a sneaker similar to this, even if the public isn?t.

Just this summer, Nike revived the ?Graffiti? concept with a special LeBron 8 V2 PE featuring the inspiration tagging. Could the LeBron 9 be next? It?s too early to tell, but the renewed fervor for the concept that first appeared on the Nike Zoom LeBron IV has us wanting to see it used it yet again.

Just after the Air Max LeBron VII debuted with a Flywire quarter panel, a special NFW version rose to notoriety wearing ?Red Carpet? coloring. Similarly designed to the ?Fresh Water? Air Griffey Max 1, that shoe proved that a material swap is an easy way to create a uniquely sick sneaker. With the LeBron 9 already rocking a woven quarter in standard trim, one has to wonder if this is a trick we?ll see Jason Petrie employ again. Either way, this colorway is undeniably amazing.

LeBron?s ties to the Yankees (and his Yankees hat) are well documented, as he?s long been a fan of the Bronx Bombers. And while he drew heavy (and sensationalized) criticism for supporting his favorite baseball team while in Cleveland, the lack of a squad worth cheering for in Miami should give him free reign to rep for Jeter and crew as much as he?d like. A nice, clean-cut pair sporting pinstripes and Yankees colors would be a great way for fans to show their love, too.

It was just yesterday that we covered the kicks King James sported while playing other NBA stars in the I-95 Battle. This brilliant color is very similar to the Chlorine Blue on the ?All-Star 2010? Air Max LeBron VII and looks great on the LeBron 8 PS. Could it be a sign that we?re set to get a nine in the same hue? Let?s hope so.

Yet another bright color scheme from the LeBron line intended more for casual wear than team runs, the grey/lime ?Dunkman? combo could see added life with the 9. We?ve seen black replace grey as the dominant color before, too, but the original is still the best.

Knicks fans proved this year that they didn?t need LeBron to learn to re-love basketball in the Big Apple. Though, he might have helped against the Celtics. Either way, this is a proven color combo for LBJ, and finally receiving a release would be very appreciated by those both in and out of New York.

The champion of all LeBrons, the ?South Beach? 8 won back countless footwear fans who were turned off to Bron by his ?Decision.? Resale prices still see said sneaker go for well over 400% of retail, and the heightened amount of attention this shoe brought the line as a whole make a 2011 re-hash an almost foregone conclusion. Let?s hope the Swoosh takes the look to the next level if they do bring it back.

Which of these mock-ups was most intriguing to you?
