If you have not noticed, Jordan Brand seems to always drop one of its best releases around the Holiday season of every year. This year was no different as the 11/12 Countdown Pack came and went within a matter of minutes only a few days before Christmas. With that said, the Snkrs Day crew dug into the archives to find out some of the other more memorable Jordan Holiday Season releases in the past.

Clicking through this post, you may revisit memories as to where you were and how hard you were trying to get your hands on these particular Holiday releases. Dating back to December 2000, check out our Brief History of Jordan Holiday Releases.

Was the 11/12 Countdown the only release that had you standing outside of a store for hours? Come on now, reminisce!

December 13th, 2000 – Air Jordan 11 “Space Jam” $125

After watching Michael Jordan defeat the Monstars (Space Jam)?? wearing these, many people drooled and impatiently waited for a release date. Four years after the movie debuted, this Air Jordan 11″Space Jam” dropped 12 days before Christmas. Without argument, this sneaker was one of the most unforgettable Christmas season releases ever.

December 22, 2001 – Air Jordan 11 Black/Varsity Red-White $125

When the Jordan 11s were retroed in 2000-2001, they would go on to become one of the most sought-after sneakers ever. The Jordan 11s were retroed in 15 colorways and became a sneaker hard to pass up on. Similar to the 11/12 Countdown Pack, Jordan Brand waited until the last month of the year to release the best of them all.?? It is safe to say the Jordan 11 is the most well-received Jordan sneaker in the signature series.

December 26th, 2002 – Air Jordan 1 White/White-Metallic Silver $100

Nike decided to drop this Air Jordan 1 retro the day after Christmas in 2002. A glaring difference noticed in the retroes was the added Jumpman logo at the expense of the Nike swoosh.?? Although 2001-2003 brought the first Air Jordan 1 Retros since 1994, it did not take long for this pair and others to hit outlets.

December 23rd, 2003 – Air Jordan 1 Black/Metallic Gold $100

Similar to the previous page, the Air Jordan 1 retro series through 2001-2003 did not sell as successfully as Jordan Brand would have liked them too. However, as part of the?? ???patent??? series, this Air Jordan 1 Black/Metallic Gold was a little above-average, to say the least. As opposed to some other sneakers on this list, there was no stampede for this sneaker.

December 22nd, 2004 – Air Jordan 13 Black/Varsity Red-White $150

The Retro Jordan 13???s were welcomed and sold quite well. Jordan Brand released only 2 colorways before Christmas including this infamous Jordan 13 Black/Red just three days before Christmas in 2004. If you recall, this release kicked off the ‘Year of the 13’ as JB released 10 more colorways during 2005. It took six years for us to see these in stores again after officially releasing during the 1997-98 season.

December 24th, 2005 – Air Jordan 14 Black/Black-Varsity Red $150

If you recall, MJ wore these during his last championship season in 1998 giving them the nickname the “Last Shots”. For that reason alone, many Jordan fans could not wait to get their paws on this instant classic.?? Out of all the Air Jordan 14 colorways, these were the most sought after as an original as well as a retro. Even Byron Russell probably owns a pair of these!

December 23rd, 2006 – Air Jordan 5 Retro White/Fire Red-Black $135

Although the Air Jordan 5 White Fire Red-Black officially released in 1990, Jordan fans did not have to wait very long to receive these. This was the fifth and final release of the OG Air Jordan 5 colorways making this drop all the more special. The Air Jordan 5 was retroed in late 1999 and again in 2006. With that said, there was always a great demand for this sneaker. The addition of the clear rubber soles helped persuade many Jordan collectors to buy a retro pair.

December 22nd, 2007 – Air Jordan 8 “Playoffs” $150

December 22nd, 2007 – Air Jordan 15 Black/Metallic Gold-White $160

The Air Jordan 8 retroed in 2003; however, this particular Air Jordan 8 “Playoffs” just retroed last December. The Air Jordan 8 retro was one of the basketball-friendly retros ever released and are still used today by some of your favorite NBA Player (see Joe Johnson). Having not been available since 1993, many people were glad to see these hit the shelves during the Christmas season last year. On the other hand, the Air Jordan 15 Laser (shown above) was far from successful.?? What a perfectly sour note for the Jordan retro LS series to end on.

December 20th, 2008 – Air Jordan 11/12 Countdown Pack $310

December 23rd, 2008 – Air Jordan 23 Finale Black/Varsity Red $230

December 24th, 2008 – Jordan Spizike “Cool Grey” $175

December 24th, 2008 Jordan Spizike “Nelly” $175

The Air Jordan 11/12 Countdown Pack will always be remembered as one of the most anticipated releases ever. Jordan fiends had been waiting all year for this pack, and many of them did not get their fix. Supposedly, there will be another restock, so some of your wishes may be granted very soon. The Air Jordan 23 was one of the best Jordan sneakers in a long time, and what better way to end the “Year of the 23” with this Black/Red colorway. On another note, many?? consumers have been patiently waiting on the?? Jordan Spizike “Cool Grey” and the “Citron” colorway to make its way to the U.S. With that said, Christmas wishes were granted upon hearing of a U.S. release date earlier this month. Is this the best Jordan Christmas season yet?
