Sneakers are great, but the people you meet through them are even better. H-Town Sneaker Summit founder Kadoma is not only one of those great people you meet, but a man that?s responsible for bringing together many more. We reached out to Kadoma to find out what he?s wearing in preparation for this weekend?s 7th annual H-Town Sneaker Summit. Recalling his love for skateboarding and seasonal wearing habits (it?s hot in Texas), he elaborated on shoes that push the culture both old and new. Kadoma:<\/strong> “Right now I’m busy planning our 7th annual H-Town Sneaker Summit event. I’d be lying if I didn’t tell you that literally everything thing I have goes into it; blood, sweat, tears, sacrifice, and dollars. Honestly, it takes away from a lot of things including my own ‘usual’ personal shopping habits, but to me it is worth the sacrifice. During summertime I always seem to stray away from basketball shoes a bit and wear a lot more skate, lifestyle, or comfort shoes. Here is what is in my rotation right now.”<\/p>\n Kadoma:<\/strong> “This is probably my most favorite shoe right now. Skateboarding is what actually got me into sneakers, with my favorite all time skate shoe being the Vans Chukka Boot. I kinda look at this shoe as an updated silhouette of that. It has a simple and clean design inspired by a lifestyle shoe, yet just a simple change of colors and\/or materials seems to continually give the simple silhouette new life. I also like this shoe because it came out pretty much during the height of hype for Nike SB and took things into a brave and bold new direction true to skateboarding without sacrificing style.”<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Kadoma:<\/strong> “I have long been a fan of Eric Koston since his amateur days on H-Street to his first Pro Signature Model on ?S. Therefore I was naturally excited when he teamed up with Nike SB as I knew we could expect something revolutionary. After lending his had to redesigning the classic SB dunk, we have his latest effort the Eric Koston 1. The shoe although minimalist in design has a lot of subtle innovations. When skateboarding I always preferred a vulcanized sole for increased grip and flexibility, but the new Lunarlon removable midsole makes this shoe somewhat a hybrid of a vulc and cup sole with a low smooth ride. This shoe is a total game changer!”<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Kadoma:<\/strong> “Sure, there may be more aesthetically pleasing running shoes to look at, but honestly I cop my running shoes for their comfortable ride. With Asics the quality of materials and craftsmanship has always won me over. I have several pairs and models, some old, and some new, but these in particular are my favorite because they are Texas born and Texas made by the folks at Snkrs Day in Austin. I think we need more sneakers that rep Texas hard like these.”<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Kadoma:<\/strong> “The Air Jordan III is one of my favorite shoes of all time. Just the story behind these! The first pair of Jordans with a visible air bag, the Jumpman logo, the elephant print, a mid basketball shoe! And then the whole story about MJ about to jump ship to Adidas before Tinker himself unveiled these to him. I’m not sure if there is another shoe in existence with that much nostalgia. The True Blues are a shoe that somehow always evaded my grasp. I was happy that I was given another shot to obtain them, but wasn’t too thrilled about the price hike. With the IIIs being one of my all time faves, I had a habit of buying several pairs on their release date at $100 a pop.”<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Kadoma:<\/strong> “I’ve been fortunate enough for Nick to ask me my thoughts on his upcoming footwear line a couple of times. Honestly I have to say no other company reps a ‘skateboarding lifestyle shoe’ like Diamond will. With Nick behind the design you know it is going to be amazing. Everything he does is top notch. The thing I really love about these shoes is the attention to detail and the quality of materials like lush suede and butter soft leathers, something we see slowly disappearing more and more from today’s market place.
