Back in 2011, Snkrs Day celebrated Jason Kidd’s first NBA Championship with the Dallas Mavericks. Paying tribute to the pivotal PG on the day of his retirement announcement, we take a look back at the best kicks worn in Kidd’s career up to the 2011 season.<\/em><\/p>\n He’s done everything in the L but win MVP. Jason Kidd<\/strong> further solidified his Hall of Fame career by adding the title “NBA Champion” to his resume. His storied 16 seasons have seen the transformation of his play and sneaker game. Once ‘Ason’, the precision passer sonned his critics by picking up a jumper and becoming third all-time in made three-pointers. His shoe sportings have matured as well moving from camp spokesman to brand face. We look back at his best sneakers and career highlights in celebration of his ring.<\/p>\n Shoe:<\/strong> Nike Air Unlimited Jason Kidd’s two seasons in Berkeley saw a new school of point guard play. Laser passes, blinding speed, and a 6-4 build made him a triple-double threat night in and night out. At Cal he picked up Freshman of the Year and First Team All-American honors while wearing the likes of the Nike Air Maestro<\/strong> and Nike Air Unlimited<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Shoe:<\/strong> Nike Air Go LWP As the #2 overall pick in the 94 Draft, Kidd made a splash instantly. He led the NBA in triple-doubles, made the Mavs the league’s most improved team, and won co-Rookie of the Year honors. Kidd wore the Nike Air Go LWP<\/strong> in the Rookie Challenge and wore the Nike Air Lambaste<\/strong> over much of the season.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \n Jason Kidd in the Nike Zoom Flight 95 Ad\n Shoe:<\/strong> Nike Zoom Flight 95 The Nike Zoom Flight 95<\/strong> saw the culmination of two technologies that would forever change basketball footwear: Carbon Fiber and Zoom Air. J-Kidd proved the perfect poster boy for the Flight camp his sophomore season, averaging 16.6 points, 9.7 assists, and 6.8 boards per game and getting voted in to the All-Star Game.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \n Jason Kidd in the Nike Zoom Flight Five\n Shoe:<\/strong>Nike Zoom Flight Five After putting on for the Flight camp, Nike laced Jason with his first signature, the Nike Zoom Flight Five<\/strong>. Over his career the sig proved a favorite as he laced it up in a Dallas, Phoenix, and Jersey.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \n Jason Kidd in the Nike Air Flightposite\n Shoe:<\/strong> Nike Air Flightposite Kidd embraced the new in Phoenix. Backcourt 2000 saw Kidd team up with Penny Hardaway for a futuristic take on guard play. Nike outfitted both Kidd and Penny with PE versions of their most progressive sneaker at the time, the Nike Air Flightposite<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \n Jason Kidd in the Nike Air Afterburner Flight\n Shoe:<\/strong> Nike Air Afterburner Flight Five years in the desert saw an array of Nikes and five straight playoff appearances. One of the most memorable postseasons came in 2000. After breaking his left ankle, Suns great Kevin Johnson came out of retirement to fill the void left by Kidd. Jason made a surprise comeback in a deciding game against the Spurs to spark an upset. He did so in the Nike Air Flight Afterburner<\/strong>. \n Jason Kidd in the Nike Air Zoom Kidd\n Shoe:<\/strong> Nike Air Zoom Kidd Jason Kidd had a knack for getting signature shoes before getting traded. Much like the Zoom Flight Five, he was traded in his second signature, the Nike Air Zoom Kidd<\/strong>. The shoe featured the popular morph skin technology and was worn in Phoenix and New Jersey.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \n Jason Kidd in the Nike Zoom Flight Turbine\n Shoe:<\/strong> Nike Zoom Flight Turbine It didn’t take long for Kidd to make an impact in New Jersey. The Nets became a perennial powerhouse as he led them to NBA Finals in his first season while finishing second in MVP voting. Much of that play was done in the Nike Zoom Flight Turbine<\/strong>, a patent leather draped sneaker that relied on a unique lacing system.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \n Jason Kidd in the Nike Zoom Flight 2k3\n Shoe:<\/strong> Nike Zoom Flight 2k3 The famed Alpha Project outfitted Kidd once again with the Nike Zoom Flight 2k3<\/strong>. 2002-03 was another great season for Kidd as he averaged a career high 18.7 points and led the Nets to their second straight Finals appearance.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \n Jason Kidd in the Air Jordan 19\n Shoe:<\/strong> Air Jordan 19 All-Star Weekend is where Jordan Brand shines. Kidd proved to be a team player and member in ’04 wearing the Air Jordan 19<\/strong>. Over the course of the year he rocked both regional and SE versions of the post-Mike era signature. Shoe:<\/strong> Air Jordan 13 After a long run with the Swoosh, Kidd spent the next couple of seasons dabbling in Jordan Brand. He sported everything from the Jordan Team Flow to the Jordan Nu’ Retro 2, but his Air Jordan 13<\/strong> PE standouts the most.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \n Jason Kidd in the Nike Zoom BB\n Shoe:<\/strong> Nike Zoom BB Eventually J-Kidd returned to his Nike roots. The Nike Zoom BB<\/strong> saw him back in Zoom Air cushioning. PE versions were rocked as a Net and a member of Team USA’s summer team. Wisdom would prevail over youth, as Kidd landed the starting PG spot on the Redeem Team and led them to gold medal glory.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Shoe:<\/strong> PEAK Kidd III Third time’s the charm. After coming up short in the Finals twice before and wearing two different brands, Jason would eventually win his first title in the PEAK Kidd III<\/strong>.
