As stated earlier, Jordan Brand will officially release the “Orion Blue” Air Jordan 7 at Stateside retailers tomorrow, March 26, for $150. This will mark the first of multiple Air Jordan 7 releases this year (“Bordeuax”, “Cardinal”, “Year of the Rabbit”), and each colorway is expected to garner a lot of interest for sneaker enthusiasts. How special is MJ’s seventh signature model you ask? His Airness did some incredible, unearthly things in the Air Jordan 7. He scored 40 or more points 14 time while wearing the Air Jordan 7 and won an MVP trophy and a Championship against the Portland Trail Blazers (1992 NBA Finals). The upcoming “Bordeaux” and “Cardinal” Air Jordan 7 are just a couple of the colorways he wore while demolishing opponents during the second half of the 1991-92 and the first half of the 1992-93. Take a look at our Michael Jordan?s Seven Best Games in the Air Jordan 7.

The 1992 NBA All-Star game is most remembered for the return of Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson, who retired prior to the 1991-92 NBA season after contracting HIV. Yet, many sneaker enthusiasts remember this moment because MJ debuted the “Bordeaux” Air Jordan 7. Magic stole the show as he took home MVP honors with a 25-point, nine-assist night; however, Jordan’s 18 points, five assists and two “Bordeauxs” resonated more with the sneaker community.

Stats: 56 pts, 5 rebs, 5 asts, 4 stls

Shoe: Air Jordan 7 “Raptors”

The Chicago Bulls took on Glen Rice, Steve Smith, Rony Seikaly and the Miami Heat in the first round of the 1992 NBA Playoffs. In this quick sweep, Jordan saved his best game for last as he scored 56 points on the Heat in South Beach while wearing the “Raptors” Air Jordan 7. It was the first time the Miami Heat franchise participated in the postseason; therefore, the South Beach fans got the chance to see a young, hungry Heat team and a top 10 Michael Jordan performance in the “Raptors”. They definitely got more than they bargained for.

Stats: 39 pts, 11 asts

Shoe: Air Jordan 7 “Raptors”

There are a number of Michael Jordan moments that have become memorable posters and photos over the years. Instances such as him holding his follow-through after hitting the “last shot”, him collapsing in Pippen’s arms due to his flu sickness and him shrugging his shoulders. The latter moment was captured in game 1 of the 1992 NBA Finals while again wearing the “Raptors” Air Jordan 7. He broke Elgin Baylor’s record for most points in a first half in the playoffs (35 points) which included six first-half three-pointers (also a record). Following the sixth three-pointer, Jordan turned to the broadcast table/Cliff Robinson and shrugged as if saying, “I’m just as surprised as you all are.”

Victim: Croatia

Stats: 22 pts, 5 asts

Shoe: Air Jordan 7 “Olympic”

The 1992 Olympic basketball team, also known as the “Dream Team”, is arguably the best team ever assembled in the history of basketball. Likewise, it is also memorable, today, for the wide array of classic, vintage basketball shoes worn by the players. During the six games, MJ did not score in the 40s, 50s, and/or 60s; he didn’t have to. The well-rounded team, which included, Charles Barkley, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, and others, dominated international basketball and won by an average of 45 points each game. MJ led the USA with 22 points in the championship game while wearing the “Olympic” Air Jordan 7.

Victim: Los Angeles Lakers

Stats: 54 pts, 13 rebs, 7 asts, 3 blks

Shoe: Air Jordan 7 “Cardinal”

MJ flew past Sedale Threat, Byron Scott, Anthony Peeler and the rest of The Lake Show while wearing the “Cardinal” Air Jordan VII at the Forum. Why did he feel the need to submerge the Lake Show you ask? Maybe because Magic Johnson, who announced his retirement a year prior to this game, was in the stands on this epic night (7:17 of the video). We don’t blame MJ for wanting to put on a show for his friend and former competitor.

Date: 12/23/1992

Victim: Washington Bullets

Stats: 57 pts, 10 asts, 3 stls

Shoe: Air Jordan 7 “Cardinal”

MJ blessed the fans in Chicago with a 57-point outing against the Washington Bullets just one month after the previously-shown Lakers outing. He unloaded shot after shot while wearing the “Cardinal” Air Jordan 7 against the Bullets; however, what’s more impressive is the 10 assists he added with the 57 points. We’re sure brothers Horace Grant (Chicago Bulls) and Harvey Grant (Washington Bullets) never saw a show that entertaining in each other’s 27-year presence at the time.

Date: 01/16/1993

Victim: Orlando Magic

Stats: 64 pts, 6 rebs, 5 stls

Shoe: Air Jordan 7 “Cardinal”

Shaquille O’Neal’s first professional game against Michael Jordan went…well…good and bad. He dominated the Chicago Bulls front line by scoring 29 points, grabbing 24 rebounds and coming up with five blocks. In a regular game, this stat line would have been the highlight of the night; yet, did you really think MJ would be outdone by a rookie? While wearing the “Cardinal” Air Jordan 7, Jordan scored a whopping 64 points to go along with six rebounds and five steals. We guess he was sending a message to Shaq about whose league it is.
