This morning rumors were put to rest and RSVP lists were put on system overload as details were confirmed for Kanye West’s SXSW show at the VEVO Powerstation. As sneakerheads and Austinites we wonder if this will be the live debut of the Nike Air Yeezy 2<\/strong>. While timing makes perfect sense, the Yeezy sequel is not the only sneaker Mr. West could pull out of his closet. We take a look back at his performance and sneaker history narrowing it down to his most likely kick picks. What will Yeezy rock? Air Jordan 3<\/h1>\n

Jordans and denim? Jordans and sweat pants? Nah, Jordans and leather pants. Rock star lifestyle and Chitown roots clash on this combo that Ye has been known to rock lately. We’re so appalled.<\/p>\n

Infrared=Power color. Kanye’s been rocking the “Infrared” 6s since back when he was Kanye Cheddar. The re-release in last summer’s Infrared Pack has seemed to reignite the fire as he’s worn them casually on the reg and donned them in his NBA All-Star Game performance.<\/p>\n

Who taught you to wear your Jordan 8s unstrapped like that? Kanye has always shown favor to the Air Jordan 8 “Aqua” on stage, on court, and casually. Triple-double, no assist.<\/p>\n

Louis Vuitton Collection<\/h1>\n

Kanye’s Louis Vuitton line may be a few years old now, but it’s certainly not off the table of choices. When the line first launched he wore all three models for a number of memorable TV performances and appearances. He’s also rocked the all red Dons in recent performances at the MTV VMAs, Jay-Z and Eminem’s Home & Home Tour, and on Saturday Night Live. They also prove to look the best with a suit. Rosewood!<\/p>\n

Nike Air Yeezy<\/h1>\n

The Nike Air Yeezy<\/strong> proved to be the first true signature sneaker for an artist as Kanye was involved in the design and wore them on stage. He debuted the then unknown sneaker during a dramatic performance of “Stronger” and “Hey Mama” at the 2008 Grammys. Shortly after it was disclosed that they were the Yeezy and would release.<\/p>\n

Yeezy rocked the sneakers of his namesake while rocking crowds on his acclaimed Glow in the Dark Tour and on numerous festival stops including 2009’s SXSW G.O.O.D. Music Showcase at the Fader Fort. He also wore them at many other landmark performances such as Hot 97’s Summer Jam and Nike’s Human Race. A Yeezy 1 repeat would be anticlimactic for this year’s SXSW, that is unless it’s a new colorway…<\/p>\n

Ye has sneakers for days from brands and brands. Always one to step out and standout there’s a good chance he pulls something out of left field. He’s worn classics from Nike, Jordan, adidas, and more in the past with few genres untouched. High fashion sneakers, 6 inch Timbs, and loafers are all in bounds.<\/p>\n

Can we get much higher? We’re not dillusional to think that Kanye will break out the Nike Air Yeezy 2<\/strong> at VEVO Power Plant this Sunday at SXSW. He’s hinted at the release of an Air Yeezy 2 in the past and also wore them in Nike’s The Black Mamba<\/em>. With a new album out and two on the way a tour is likely in site with Coachella already booked. Will Austin see the Air Yeezy 2 in action this weekend? The city ain’t safe watch the throne.<\/p>\n
