When recalling All-Star weekend heroes the likes of Michael Jordan, Spud Webb, and Magic Johnson come to mind. Consider Brent Barry. Not only did “Bones” Barry win the Dunk Contest his rookie year with a free-throw line jam but he also made a splash in the 3-Point Shootout. The year was 2003 and Brent had to follow up defending champ Peja Stojakovic who had just racked up an impressive 19. Warm ups and all (ala Larry Bird), Brent went on to match Peja for the lead. After hitting the last money ball Brent broke out a little crip walk to the delight of Magic Johnson and the TNT crew. To the delight of sneakerheads he was wearing the recently released Nike Blazer retro, dipped in Paul Brown leather with Net accents. Barry went on to lose the contest, but all blues aside, he won a lot of fans.<\/p>\n
