In 2010, we witnessed a ton of superb sneaker releases from all of the brands. Highlights included the “Cool Grey” Air Jordan 11s, the “Infrared” Air Jordan 6 Pack, the Star Wars x adidas Originals Collection, the Under Armour Black Ice, the Reebok Zig Tech and the limitless amount of New Balance collabs and Converse First String releases.

2011 will be just as big, if not bigger on the sneaker front. Dating back to October, we have seen many previews of what’s to come next year such as the “Dark Neon Royal” Nike Air Foamposite One, the “Cement” Air Jordan 3s and the Swizz Beatz x Reebok joint effort, just to name a few. With that said, take a look at our 18 Sneakers We’re Looking Forward to in 2011.

**Note** In addition to our 18 sneakers, we also have two bonuses and 10 honorable mentions that you should look out for in 2011. Also, let us know you most anticipated sneaker of 2011 in our voting poll on the last page.

Air Jordan 3 “Cement Grey”

Tentative Release: January 22, 2011

The Air Jordan 3 “Cement Grey” has retroed twice (1994, 2003) since its original release in 1988; yet, there is always a new excitement when this shoe hits the shelves. This will be the first Air Jordan Retro release of the new year! Who else is impatiently anticipating this sneaker?

Nike Air Max Penny I “Orlando”

Tentative Release: Spring 2011

Gilbert Arenas has teased us enough with the “Orlando” Nike Air Max Penny I this year. We first saw him wear this shoe in NBA Media day, and he wore it again in his home debut for the Orlando Magic. Luckily, we’ll have our chance at this Penny Hardaway classic some time in the spring of 2011. Over the past couple of years, Nike has blessed us with multiple colorways of the Nike Air Penny II and the Nike Air Penny III, therefore, this shoe is long overdue.

Nike Air Foamposite One “Dark Neon Royal”

Tentative Release: February 2011

Need we say anymore? Over the past couple of years, Nike has released a ton of Foamposite sneakers such as the “Eggplant” Foams, the “Copper” Foams and the “Pearl” Foam Pros. However, none of those compare to the original “Dark Neon Royal” Nike Air Foamposite One, a sneaker that first released in 1997.

Air Jordan 7 “Bordeaux”

Tentative Release: April 2011

The Air Jordan 7 “Bordeaux” will also return in 2011 to many people’s delight. We have heard rumors about this shoe returning for the longest, and we will finally get a chance to purchase our homie Bun B’s favorite Air Jordan.

Concepts x New Balance 999 ?The Kennedy?

Tentative Release: March 2011

In collaboration with New Balance, Concepts of Boston is prepared to release an inspired 999 that reflects the love former President John F. Kennedy had for sailing. In addition to the custom, nautical flag accents (tongue tag, liner, multicolor laces) that represent his love for sailing, this shoe also possesses a very nice texture makeup, as it contains grey suede, white mesh and a nylon heel panel. This release will be a breath of fresh air seeing that we don’t see many 999 releases from the brand.

Air Jordan 13 “Playoffs”

Tentative Release: Spring 2011

Sure, we received three classic Air Jordan 13 colorways this holiday season, but we are in for a real treat in early 2011. Jordan Brand will bless us with the Air Jordan 13 “Playoffs”, a shoe that hasn’t release since its original debut in 1997. So far, this is arguably the biggest and most highly anticipated Air Jordan Retro release of 2011.

Swizz Beats x Reebok Collaboration

Tentative Release: March 2011

Reebok undoubtedly turned heads with its Zig technology in 2010, and we expect it to do even better in 2011. Besides Zig, Reebok’s upcoming collaboration with Swizz Beatz will garner some attention in 2011. When we first showed you a preview of this joint effort, many of you applauded the design. Could Reebok take over next year with Zig and collabs like this?

Nike Air Griffey Max I ‘Sport Red’

Tentative Release: March 2011

If you recall, Nike unleashed a superb colorway of the Air Griffey Max 1 (Grey/Marina Blue) during the early part of 2010. Nike will again bless us with an Air Griffey Max 1 in the form of this ‘Sport Red’ edition. Definitely, a must-have for those of you who own a Ken Griffey Jr. Cincinnati Reds jersey.

Nike Air Pegasus ’92

Tentative Release: Spring 2011

In 2009, Nike released a countless number of Nike Air Pegasus ’89 colorways for the shoe’s 20th anniversary, yet, in 2010, the Pegasus releases slowed down. Look for 2011 to be filled with Pegasus releases once again. This time, we will witness an abundance of Nike Air Pegasus ’92 releases. We’re definitely looking forward to one of Nike’s best runners in vivid, neck-breaking color schemes.

Nike LeBron 8 “Dunkman”

Tentative Release: March 2011

Every year, Nike has treated us to a new “Dunkman” sneaker from the LeBron line. Many of you stated that the “Dunkman” Nike Air Max LeBron VII has been the best so far, but can this “Dunkman” Nike LeBron 8 dethrone it? The “Dunkman” Nike Lebron 8 coincides with the entire series more seeing that it contains a grey/electric green color scheme as opposed to black/electric green.

adidas Crazy 8

Tentative Release: Spring 2011

Obviously, Kobe Bryant has one of, if not the best signature sneaker on the market as of now; yet, many may still think the adidas Crazy 8 is one of his best. Although adidas cannot use Kobe’s name in association with this shoe, they will bring back the Crazy 8 in a multitude of colorways for 2011. The Crazy 8 is definitely one of the most recognizable shoes to date and should be a hit amongst sneaker enthusiasts next year.

Jordan F2F

Tentative Release: Summer 2011

Although it’s always nice to see Jordan Brand bring back classic Air Jordan Retros, we’re equally excited to see new, performance-based sneakers from the brand. Recently, Jordan Brand has been focusing on making performance-ready products, and this Jordan F2F is definitely promising (at least on the outside).

Stash x Packer Shoes x Reebok Pump Graphlite

Tentative Release: Early 2011

Fresh off of the release of the Reebok Pump Omni Zone “Dominique Wilkins”, Packer Shoes is at it again with this Reebok Pump Graphlite. This time, graffiti artist Stash gets in on the fun of creating a joint effort. Like previous Stash collabs, the shoe features shades of blue and shades of grey blocking the upper. White leather accents and mesh lining intersect the main theme with ‘Packer’ and ‘Stash’ appearing on the heels.

Jordan CP3.IV

Tentative Release: January 1, 2011

It is always intriguing to see a sneaker line grow and evolve into something productive and stylish. Over the years, Chris Paul’s signature sneaker line has done just that. From the Jordan CP to this Jordan CP3.IV, there has been a complete overhaul in style, design and technology. In addition to the Nike Zoom Kobe VI, the Nike LeBron 8 and the Nike Zoom KD III, expect big things from the Jordan CP3.IV in 2011.

Nike Air Griffey Max 1 Black/Emerald Green

Tentative Release: Summer 2011

We are definitely excited about the “Sport Red” Nike Air Griffey Max 1 release next year, but this “Emerald Green” Nike Air Griffey Max 1 may be a little more anticipated. It hasn’t released since its original debut in 1996 and is a perfect match for the Seattle Mariners jersey!

Air Jordan 2011

Dwyane Wade dunking in the Air Jordan 2011

Tentative Release: February 2011

The next installment of the Air Jordan series is always anticipated. We saw a preview of this shoe in the Dwyane Wade x Kevin Hart “Dominate Another Day” commercial and again on Christmas Day by way of Wade’s foot. Although we haven’t received exact information, we’re hearing that its cushioning aspects are unreal. Who else is ready to see what JB has to offer?

Solebox x adidas EQT “Then”

Tentative Release: January 2011

Solebox and adidas collaborated on a two-sneaker grouping dubbed the “Then and Now” Pack. The “Now” part of the pack, an adidas adiZero Aegis 2, released in mid October, and the “Then” part, this adidas EQT, will hit select retailers in January. We must applaud both sides for incorporating a subtle, stylish color scheme on a classic silhouette.

Air Jordan 1 Hi “Banned”

Tentative Release: Summer 2011

The sneaker community rarely gets excited for an Air Jordan 1 release these days. This “Banned” Air Jordan 1 Hi is a different story though. It pays homage to the act of David Stern attempting to ban MJ’s sneakers when he first debuted them on the court. With every passing photo, many of you have inquired about release information regarding this shoe. Look for a middle-of-the-year release in 2011.

Bonus #1: Air Jordan 11 Holiday Release?

Tentative Release: Possibly December?

Jordan Brand has blessed us with an Air Jordan 11 holiday release for the past three Decembers (2008: Air Jordan 11 Black/Red-White, 2009: “Space Jam”, 2010: “Cool Grey”). So, should we expect another one for December 2011? Columbias? Concords? Jordan Brand, are you listening?

Bonus #2: Snkrs Day x ????, Snkrs Day x ?????, Snkrs Day x ????

Many of you have expressed your excitement with our past two collaborations and we greatly appreciate it! Therefore, we expect to satisfy you with more than one collaboration in 2011! We cannot give away any information as of now, but stay tuned because we will reveal information sooner than you think!

Honorable Mention

1. Air Jordan 5 “Bin 23” – We have seen two different Air Jordan 5s with the “Bin 23” tag. Only time will tell whether we’re getting the grey one or the black premium leather makeup. Which one interests you the most?

2. Nike Zoom Hyperfuse Low – Mark our words: Nike’s Fuse technology will take over in 2011.

3. adidas Originals Samba “Snakeskin” – Snakeskin + an original adidas silhouette = deadly combination.

4. Nike Air Max 2011 – This time, Nike will incorporate Fuse technology in their latest from the Air Max series.

5. Nike Air Max Sensation – Although Chris Webber is now in the TNT Studios, his signature sneaker is still at work on the court. Another nice Nike Basketball retro that will surface next year.

6. Nike Air Max JR. – The Nike Air Max JR is a very nice-looking hybrid that includes attributes from all of Griffey’s sneakers. The only reason this shoe didn’t make the list is because of the two, more highly anticipated Nike Air Griffey Max 1 releases.

7. Nike Lunar Flow – Lunar undoubtedly became a staple in the sneaker industry this year, and we expect its takeover to continue in 2011 with new silhouettes like the Nike Lunar Flow.

8. Nike Air Max 1 “ACG” Pack – It’s always nice to see Nike combine two of its biggest entities. Nike ACG and the Nike Air Max series are two of the biggest by far. Why not incorporate elements of both into one release?

9. Nike Air Foamposite Pro “Electric Green” – Anything that reminds people of the “Kryptonate” Nike Foamposite Lite will undoubtedly garner attention.

10. Nike Air Foamposite One “Metallic Pewter” – Everybody is anticipating the “Dark Neon Royal” Nike Air Foamposite One. Therefore, this sneaker may get lost in its shadow.
