To say retros have caught on over the past decade would be an understatement as it seems nearly everything has re-released.?With the holiday return of classics such as the Nike Air Go LWP and Nike Air More Uptempo we can’t help but be thankful and greedy at the same time. With that said, there are still a load of kicks we haven’t seen come back that we’re fiending for. Take a look as we count down the top 20 basketball shoes we want back from the ’90s.

20. Nike Air Flight One

The Air Flight One is one of the hottest non-signature shoes worn by Penny Hardaway. Looks aside, the shoe got big props when MJ laced them up in the playoffs in favor of the Space Jams. A Black/White retro would be enough for us to do the same.

19. Fila Webber

Fila Webber

Worn by: Chris Webber

C-Webb has been seen in and sponsored by just about every shoe company. His short span with Fila produced the Fila Webber, a sleek sneaker portraying his smooth image. Things ended sour with Chris and Fila so odds of a retro are very unlikely; however, we’d still like to see them come back.

18. Nike Air CB4 II

Nike Air CB4 II

Worn by: Charles Barkley

Sir Charles signatures will be best known from his Phoenix era. With that said the Mayor of Alabama’s sneakers still rocked as a Rocket. In Houston he would wear three different signature models and even be seen in Jordans. The CB4 II stands out for its full length Air, lower cut, and general departure from the Barkley mold.

17. Nike Air Adjust Force

Worn by: Countless Nike NCAA Schools

Yes, there was a time when team shoes were cool. The Air Adjust Force?benefitted?off endorsement from top Nike schools like North Carolina and the ability to buy different colored straps?separately. High school and rec league teams picked up on the sneaker and kids were able to rock different colors and mismatch with their friends school. Besides, trading straps was a lot cooler than trading pogs.

16. Converse Aero Jet

Converse Aero Jet

Year: 1992

Worn by: Larry Johnson

LJ helped rebrand Converse after its rich history of the Chuck Taylor and sponsoring the likes of Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, and Dr. J. The Aero Jet gets forgotten in light of the Aero Jam but is still a heater using classic 90s black nubuck and also baring the ever popular Charlotte Hornets colors. If they retroed we wouldn’t know how to react…

15. adidas EQT Top Ten 2010

Kobe’s first steps on an NBA court and rookie promo were done in the EQT Top Ten 2010. White and black colorways released working off the lines of the Feet You Wear Sole. With many of the EQT models coming back and 2010 winding down it appears we won’t see these soon but one can only hope.

14. Nike Hawk Flight

GP had been a long time supporter of the Flight Camp. In ’97 Nike began to give him his true due lacing him in the Hawk Flight and making it a general release in a Sonics color. That same year it would be worn along with many other classics by Ray Allen in Spike Lee’s He Got Game.

13. Converse Voltage

Converse Voltage

Year: 1995

Worn by: Latrell Sprewell

LJ wasn’t the only NBA All-Star getting juice from the Cons in the mid 90s. Latrell Sprewell made a name for himself sporting various models in Golden State with the Voltage standing out the most. Much like the other shoes on the list they relied on contrast color blocking and big branding.

12. Reebok Blast

Reebok Blast

Model: Reebok Blast

Year: 1996

Worn by: Nick Van Exel

Reebok was killing it in the 90s with loud designs playing off simple colorways. The Blast gets mentioned as the same breath as the Shaqnosis or Kamikaze using a graphic blocked upper in black and white. Nick Van Exel rocked this makeup in the 1996 All-Star Game. Nearly a decade and a half later we’d like to do the same.

11. Fila Grant Hill 3

Fila Grant Hill 3

Worn by: Grant Hill

Imagine a 6-8 point forward that was capable of getting a triple-double every night. We’re not talking about LeBron James, we’re talking about Grant Hill. Hill became the face of Fila and the league’s good guy in the home of the Bad Boys. His third signature used wavy lines and smart branding departing from the the triangular form of his former shoes.

10. Nike Air Raid II

Worn by: Countless Blacktop Ballers

The OG Air Raid has gotten retroed plenty of times, but is the sequel better than original? While design differences are few and far between it was the “Live Together, Play Together” colorway that trumped all other make ups. One love.

9. Nike Zoom T-Bug Flight

Nike Zoom T-Bug Flight

Year: 1998

Worn by: Tim Hardaway

Tim Hardaway rocked lots of heat (pun) during his career from the Nike Air Maestro line to the Nike Air Go LWP. His own signature, the Zoom T-Bug Flight, captured the hearts of many. Zip closure, Zoom Air, and a funky exoskeleton upper made these a neck breaker and an ankle breaker.

8. Reebok Shaqnosis

Reebok Shaqnosis

Model: Reebok Shaqnosis

Year: 1995

Worn by: Shaquille O’Neal

The age old saying is big men don’t sell shoes. Shaq Daddy hypnotized skeptics with his most?recognizable sneaker to date. A zebra striped upper sat atop Hexalite cushioning perfectly displaying a Reebok logo. A well done retro (sans Shaq logo) could bring back nostalgia to Reebok and forever cure taco neck syndrome.

7. Nike Air Up

Nike Air Up

Model: Nike Air Up

Year: 1994

Worn by: Scottie Pippen & Penny Hardaway

Before the signature boom of the late 90s Nike laced its top players not named Michael or Charles with the best the brand had to offer. The original Nike Air Up was perhaps the first PE as special makeups were made for fan favorites Scottie Pippen and Penny Hardaway. Both colorways were hot and begging for a retro. Are the Go LWP and More Uptempo a sign of things to come?

6. adidas Mutombo

adidas Mutombo

Model: adidas Mutombo

Year: 1992

Worn by: Dikembe Mutombo Mpolondo Mukamba Jean-Jacques Wamutombo

Dikembe Mutombo is best known for his shot blocking and finger waving. Outside of his on court persona he’s an incredibly cultured man speaking nine different languages and being a model?humanitarian. On his signature shoe adidas drew inspiration from his African heritage using crossed spears on the tongue and Congo textile on the upper. A retro almost went down a few years back but never made it past the sample stage.

5. Reebok Kamikaze II

Reebok Kamikaze II

Model: Reebok Kamikaze II

Year: 1995

Worn by: Shawn Kemp

Before Blake Griffin there was Shawn Kemp; an in-your-face, animated, slam on you power forward. Reebok did a great job of channeling the Reignman’s personality on a slept on signature series. The chances of a shrouded Shawn sneaker coming back are about the same as the Sonic’s winning a ring, but can’t we get the Kamikaze II? OG colorways would be a dream for sleepless fans.

4. Converse All Star 91

Converse All Star 91

Model: Converse All Star 91

Year: 1997

Worn by: Dennis Rodman

Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen have got plenty of shoes retroed, why not Rodman? The Worm had some hot shoes with Nike but it was Converse that made the most of his wild side. The All Star 91 was ultra-durable two-tone midtop that did an incredible job of integrating the design of the upper and outsole.

3. Nike Air Command Force

Nike Air Command Force

Model: Nike Air Command Force

Year: 1991

Worn by: David Robinson & Billy Hoyle

On court and on the big screen the Command Force became a fan favorite. The loud colorways and super hi cut made them a standout as did the price. A retail of $175 in 1991 was too much to ask for then but there’s no doubt White Men Can’t Jump fans would leap at a chance to scoop a retro.

2. adidas EQT Elevation

Adidas EQT Elevation

Model: adidas EQT Elevation

Year: 1997

Worn by: Kobe Bryant

Kobe Bryant rocked these as a fresh faced rookie in LA. White and black colorways released during the 1996-97 season revolving around Feet You Wear technology and a Kobe endorsement. While KB may no longer rep the Three Stripes these would be an easy retro as they feature no visible Kobe branding. Bring back the two OG colorways and the purple pair from the Slam Dunk Contest please.

1. Nike Zoom Flight “The Glove”

Nike Zoom Flight "The Glove"

Model: Nike Zoom Flight “The Glove”

Year: 1998

Worn by: Gary Payton

Gary Payton went on to have a good signature line, but it was the Zoom Flight 98 that stands out the most. Mesh lining, monkey paw ankle, and a sleek full zip closure made these dope zipped up or rolled down. This Alpha Project standout harkens back to the days when outspoken stars could have an incredibly well designed sneaker and be individual. Signatures>PEs.
