The holiday season is known for its notable retro sneaker releases, but the entire year has given us great bring-backs. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, we took a look back at the last 11 months and ahead to the next one to chronicle the shoes we’re most thankful to have a chance to grab again. Some have returned somewhat recently and others haven’t seen a release since the first time they dropped, but either way, here are the 16 Sneakers We’re Thankful for Returning in 2010.<\/p>\n
Air Jordan 13 “Flint”<\/strong><\/p>\n The hologram. The panther paws. The 98 NBA Playoffs. All three of these things make the AJ13 a coveted sneaker, but the “Flint”–a non-Bulls colorway–is high on the list for many sneakerheads. Even with an inflated price tag in 2010, this shoe is sure to move quickly.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Nike Air Max 1 QS White\/Varsity Royal<\/strong><\/p>\n This OG bring-back of the classic runner popped up with almost no warning, following a 2009 Europe-only drop. 2010 was the Year of the Air Max 1 and one of the highlights had to be this clean colorway.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Nike Air Trainer Max ’91<\/strong><\/p>\n Training has been big all year, thanks to both new designs and retro releases. Bo Jackson’s Air Trainer Max ’91 returned in a couple of colorways, but this OG look is definitely the best.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Nike Air Diamond Turf<\/strong><\/p>\n It’s a shame that a conflict of contract cause this Deion retro to come back without Prime Time branding. Nonetheless, it was great to see it return. Like Sanders returning a punt, this one moved quickly.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Air Jordan 13 White\/Black-Varsity Red<\/strong><\/p>\n Like the aforementioned “Flints,” the White\/Red colorway holds a special place in the heart of many. A similar shoe released in 2005 with a Flint Grey toe and Team Red substitution, but this OG bring-back is a welcome return to the way things were.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Nike Air Max2 CB 94<\/strong><\/p>\n The most beloved sneaker in Sir Charles’ arsenal, the comical hooper-turned-analyst’s kicks came back again in this OG color-up, complete with purple accents. This shoe is the opposite of “turrble.”<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Air Jordan 9 White\/University Blue<\/strong><\/p>\n Like the Air Jordan 6, the AJ9 returned in a few too many colorways. However, 2010 gave us the first ever retro of the “Powder Blues,” though technically University Blue was substituted this time.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Air Jordan 9 “Charcoal”<\/strong><\/p>\n Like the “Powder Blues,” the Charcoal hadn’t been seen in stores since its OG release. This is the one silhouette that’s memorable because MJ didn’t<\/em> wear it. His United Center statue is rocking them to this day, however.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Air Jordan 6 “Infrared”<\/strong><\/p>\n It took ten years for the “Infrared” AJ6 to come back, but the time only made collectors’ hearts grow fonder. Released in a controversial, $310 double pack, the White\/Infrared and Black\/Infrared Air Jordans were the highlight of this summer’s sneakers.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Nike Air Max 90 “Infrared”<\/strong><\/p>\n A true classic in every way, 2010’s return of the “Infrared” 90s was much closer to the OG release than the 2008 ostrich-infused design. Another very limited release in the last few years whet our appetite for this shoe’s comeback, proven by the frenzy this drop caused.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Nike Air Max 95 “Comet”<\/strong><\/p>\n \n The return of the “Neons” was the most noteworthy release of the Air Max 95, but retro drops in each of the last two years kept it from making this list. Instead, the “Comet”‘s understated but awesome return made the biggest impression to us.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Nike Air Max 97 “Metallic Gold”<\/strong><\/p>\n With all of the OG colorways of Nike runners we saw release this year, it wasn’t a surprise to find out that the Metallic Gold AM97s were coming back. It was very appreciated, though.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Nike Air Go LWP<\/strong><\/p>\n The classic Air Go LWP (Light Weight Performance) is landing at stores now, marking yet another Penny re-issue for this year. Other stars have worn this classic sneaker, but Anfernee’s Orlando-inspired shoe reigns supreme.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Nike Air More Uptempo “Olympic”<\/strong><\/p>\n Who doesn’t remember seeing someone at the gym in these kicks? Impossible to mistake for any brand other than the Swoosh, this shoe’s “Olympic” colorway’s return is a great tribute to Scottie Pippen. Scottie wore this shoe en route to an Olympic gold medal and a 2010 Hall of Fame induction.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Air Jordan 13 “Altitude”<\/strong><\/p>\n A retro of a retro colorway, the return of the “Altitude” Air Jordan 13 is no surprise, given how big black + neon combos were this year. Will material changes from the 2005 version differentiate it enough to justify snagging a second pair?<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Air Jordan 11 “Cool Grey”<\/strong><\/p>\n MJ on the Wizards is a period in history to which many hoops fans don’t pay much attention. But when the GOAT laced up this AJ11 in 2000, sneakerheads paid attention.
