NIGO<\/a> and Nike<\/a> are decades in the making. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Legend has it the Japanese creative pitched the Swoosh a crazy idea at the turn of the 21st century: What if the Nike Air Force 1<\/a> was built with patent leather and came in bold color combinations? <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n After a deal couldn\u2019t be worked out, he allegedly set out to bring his vision to life through A BATHING APE<\/a>, the streetwear label he co-founded in 1993. The project lived under the \u201cFoot Soldier\u201d banner and was unveiled in the November 2001 issue of Popeye Magazine<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Foot Soldier store was unlike any other footwear store around. Products were displayed on conveyor belts and illuminated similar to art in a gallery. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
