Atlanta Hawks shooting guard Joe Johnson does not receive as much attention as other stars, including Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, he quietly puts up incredible numbers yearly. Likewise, his game-to-game footwear isn’t talked about much, yet he wears some of the better Jordan Brand PEs we have ever seen.

Our Snkrs Day team dug into the Kicks On Court archives and spotted Joe Johnson’s 11 greatest sneaker moments of the 2009-2010 NBA season. In this feature, you will see a series of nice Air Jordan 12, Jordan Icons and Jordan 16.5 PEs. (side note: We expect him to rock even better Air Jordans with that extremely fat contract he received this off-season). Take a look at our Kicks On Court: Joe Johnson’s Greatest Sneakers of 2009-2010.

Analysis: During the second half of the 2009-2010 NBA season, Ray Allen, Gerald Wallace, Kevin Martin and Joe Johnson all laced up fresh Air Jordan 12 PEs that caught the attention of many. Johnson’s PEs remind us of the “French Blue” Air Jordan 12s with a nice touch of red on the sides.

Analysis: The Jordan 16.5 was the go-to sneakers for the majority of the Jordan Brand members during the first half of the 2009-2010 NBA season. Johnson’s PEs were subtle yet eye-catching, as they features a Navy Blue patent leather construction. It’s amazing what a nice color scheme can do for an average sneaker.

Analysis: The Atlanta Hawks hosted the Indiana Pacers on opening night of the 2009-2010 NBA season. If you recall, JB released this sneaker to the public in November of 2008.

Analysis: Joe Johnson wasn’t apart of the 2008 Olympic Redeem Team; however, he represented the best way he could by sporting the September 2008-released “Olympic” Jordan 6 Rings. He torched the Trail Blazers by dropping 35 points in these 6 Rings.

Date: March 31st, 2010

Location: Phillips Arena

Opponent: Los Angeles Lakers

Analysis: Joe Johnson chose to debut his ‘Varsity Red Patent’ Jordan Icons in the Atlanta Hawks’ only Home game against the Los Angeles Lakers. Johnson picked a great night to wear these head-turning, all-patent leather Jordan Icons considering they beat the Lakers on national television. Even Charles Barkley commented on Johnson’s ‘loud a** red shoes.’

Date: February 14th, 2010

Location: Cowboys Stadium

Opponent: West All-Stars

Analysis: Sure, all eyes were on the East All-Star’s Dwyane Wade seeing that he won the MVP award and he sported the “Silver Anniversary” Air Jordan 2010. Yet, Johnson’s Air Jordan 2010 PEs weren’t too shabby either. Johnson contributed 10 points in the East All-Star win while wearing these White/Navy Air Jordan 2010 PEs.

Analysis: In addition to the ‘Varsity Red Patent’ Jordan Icons we showed you earlier, Joe Johnson sported a ‘Navy Blue Patent’ Jordan Icons PE during the second half of the 2009-2010 NBA season. Its patent leather finishing and color scheme is very similar to the Jordan 16.5s he wore two months earlier.

Date: November 21st, 2009

Location: New Orleans Arena

Opponent: New Orleans Hornets

Analysis: Joe Johnson chose to rock a very Chicago Bulls-esque colorway of the Jordan Jumpman Team Pro in Atlanta’s only visit to New Orleans last year. This PE featured a mainly black premium leather base with minimal red and white accents.

Jordan 16.5 ‘Varsity Red Patent’

Date: December 30th, 2009

Location: Quicken Loans Arena

Opponent: Cleveland Cavaliers

Analysis: Joe Johnson picked a bad night to debut his ‘Varsity Red Patent’ Jordan 16.5 PE, as LeBron James chose to treat himself to a birthday present of 48 points in a win against the Atlanta Hawks. Still, Johnson may have garnered more attention on the sneaker front seeing that LeBron chose to rock the simple Nike Air Max LeBron VII NFW White/Varsity Red.

Air Jordan 12 PE Black/Red

Date: January 27th, 2010

Location: AT&T Center

Opponent: San Antonio Spurs

Analysis: With the exception of Ray Allen’s PEs, many of you considered this the best Air Jordan 12 PE of last season. Johnson’s ‘Away’ Air Jordan 12 PE features a colorway that is very similar to the “Charcoal” Air Jordan 9s that recently released in September.
