Clearly, this week was a good one for sneaker lovers. We learned a lot about some much anticipated releases like the “Flint” Air Jordan 13s, our collaborative Asics Gel Lyte III and other great kicks. Which new got us, the staff most excited? Flip through the pages and then head to the comments section and let us know what news has you most looking forward to the coming days, weeks or months.

George Kiel III

In addition to the “Cool Grey” Nike Air Griffey Max GD II that released earlier this year, this is arguably the best version of the Griffey Max GD II to release this year. Also, this color combination seems to work on just about any Nike sneaker (see Nike Air Max LeBron VII “Dunkman).

Nike Air Griffey Max GD II Black/Electric Green

Alex Kroviak

My staff pick is our own Asics Gel Lyte III, but that’d be too easy.

Clae has done nothing but impress lately. Having purchased this shoe just two days ago, I can attest to the quality of the nubuck used. I’m always on the lookout for simple kicks with a touch of class, if only because I rarely do boots or dressier shoes, and this shoe definitely fits the bill. Also, I’m looking forward to making cheesy jokes about “staying on my grizzly.”

Clae Thompson Grizzly Nubuck

Ian Stonebrook

My first autumn in Austin has me missing fall weather in Michigan. In a climate where cowboy boots prevail over Nike boots it’s safe to say that my Foamdomes and Superdomes won’t be migrating from East Lansing to the Lone Star state. The Nike SB Omar Salazar in the Tan/Black makeup channels the the colorway of classic constructions and places it on a modern skate silhouette. They also remind me of one of my favorite Jordans, the Chutney/Black Air Jordan 13 Low. I’ve never owned a pair of SBs but I’ve also never been able to wear shorts in October. These Salazar’s might have me turning over a new leaf this season.

Nike SB Zoom Omar Salazar British Tan/Black Mikey Elizondo

The Nike ACG Lunar Macleay is a completely new sneaker from Nike’s ACG line and I love it. It combines the outdoors with the comfort of Lunar technology. Everything on this shoe is attractive to me. The detail on this shoe is amazing, from the HF welded swoosh, integrated tongue pull tab, lightweight Lunarlon midsole, Lunar Elite-inspired tread and 3M on the laces down to the Nike + system. But as usual, the shoe I like will be dropping on the other end of the earth, as Nike plans for these to only drop in China. This year there have been a couple of “China” sneakers. My favorite was the Kobe Vs, but I think this shoe might just put up a fight for top spot. Hopefully though these sneaks somehow find their way in to my hands and on to my feet in the near future.

Nike ACG Lunar Macleay

Mike Parsley

The Nike Air Footscape Freemotion from the “Climbers Pack” is my staff pick of the week. I really like unique runners, and these Footscape Freemotions fit the bill. The colorway is also perfect for fall. I might just have cop this whole pack.

Nike Air Footscape Freemotion

Albert Lin

My staff pick for this week is the Nike Zoom Huarache Trainer “Flash.” After seeing these in person, I think that this might be one of the best releases this Summer. I love the materials and colors used and the silhouette is one of is really unique.

Nike Zoom Huarache Trainer “Flash”

Clearly, this week was a good one for sneaker lovers.
