It was 1998 when Kobe first appeared at the NBA All-Star Game, which would total to 18 by the end of his career. Kobe would also secure four All-Star MVP titles, leaving him tied with Bob Pettit for the record high. Kobe also became the third player in NBA history to hold a bench role during the season and get elected as an All-Star starter. This 1998 All-Star Game was also the year of the iconic matchup between Kobe and Michael Jordan, who was rumored to retire after that season. The game would go on to be one of the most historic NBA All-Star Games ever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sneaker has an all-Black upper made with leather. The dynamic midsole adds White to the sneaker and corresponds with the adidas font on the tongue. The Purple tongue tag also features the adidas Mountain logo in Black. Elsewhere, the sneaker has Purple pull tabs and adidas branding in Gold on the ankle. The colorway is an obvious nod to Kobe’s beloved Lakers and also features his initial jersey number, 8, stitched at the base of the tongue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
