While the team has been patriotic in past weeks, this week’s selections brought in some unexpected choices. From Pumas to Superstars, the choices are a clear sign the squad is broadening its horizon when it comes to brands and style. What was your favorite shoe we checked out this week?

Alex Kroviak

I really like the Converse that Parra did for the (Paint the Town)RED collection, but this Cody Hudson pair has a leg up, in my opinion. The leather is a great color that makes for an easy-to-wear shoe, even though I’m not a huge Chuck fan. Jeans, tee and these, for the win.

Cody Hudson x Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star Hi

Growing up I used to love the adidas Superstar. Whether it was the original or the 2G version they were a clean shoe that sneakerheads and non-sneakerheads alike could appreciate. This collaboration is a great example of keeping it classic and not going over the top. You can tell by the pictures that great leather was used and the vintage midsoles give it a real Run DMC feel. Unfortunately the collabiness comes through on this one in the form of limited distribution. If adidas Originals can launch a product like this in the US and make it easily accessible they’ll have a new customer.

Kenji Furuya X ABC Mart X adidas Originals Superstar II

My pick for this week is the adidas Superstar II. Recently, adidas has been bringing back this classic model in some very creative/unique colorways and materials. Wearing these shoes take me back to middle school when the Superstar II’s were extremely popular. I hope adidas continues to keep this classic design up to date, as they are doing with pairs such as these.

adidas Originals Superstar II

Mike Parsley

I really liked when Nike did the Velcro strap idea with the Blazer, but these Pumas take a slight edge over those for me. I like the red suede upper and the gold details really set it off. Size 9, please.

Puma Suede Mid Velcro

While the team has been patriotic in past weeks, this week’s selections brought in some unexpected choices.
