The Nike Dunk fervor continues to stay at a high, causing demand and conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On June 17, 2022, the release of the Nike Dunk High “Panda” at HBX’s grand opening in New York City lead to a knifing incident, according to New York Daily News<\/a><\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the report, customers had lined up as early as 6 a.m. on release day despite the store not opening until 11 a.m. that day. Pushing and shoving led to the altercation when 20-year-old Miguel Ovidio knifed a customer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ovidio was arrested and charged with assault, menacing, and possession of a weapon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt was customers who were involved,\u201d an unnamed store manager said to New York Daily News<\/em>. \u201cThey started pushing to get in, getting closer and closer. \u201cThey\u2019d been waiting for the new Nikes. It\u2019s a mob scene.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The state of the victim is unknown at the moment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
