This marks adidas&#8217; first federal lawsuit against The Swoosh.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/fingfx.thomsonreuters.com\/gfx\/legaldocs\/zgvomeqmmvd\/adidasnike.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lawsuit<\/a> alleges Nike&#8217;s Run Club, Training Club, and SNKRS mobile apps, as well as Nike&#8217;s Adapt system, violate nine adidas patents including its adidas 1 shoe and the Confirmed App.<\/p>\n<p>adidas says that it has a history of creating mobile-fitness technology stating that in 2004 the adidas 1 was the first shoe that ever &#8220;sensed and adjusted the comfort of the shoe while the shoe was worn,&#8221; and that Nike&#8217;s Adapt system infringes on that patent. adidas is also accusing Nike of infringing on patents that cover features including tracking and storing activity-related progress, feedback on performance, and personalized coaching and training tips.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" onerror=\"this.src='https:\/\/www.snkrsday.com\/files\/2023\/12\/404-dead-image.jpg'\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1068319 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.snkrsday.com\/files\/2022\/06\/adidas1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"233\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.snkrsday.com\/files\/2022\/06\/adidas1.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.snkrsday.com\/files\/2022\/06\/adidas1-325x189.jpg 325w, https:\/\/www.snkrsday.com\/files\/2022\/06\/adidas1-200x117.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In addition to the footwear technology patents, adidas claims that Nike&#8217;s SNKRS App infringes on adidas&#8217; patent that allows users to &#8220;reserve and purchase limited-edition footwear&#8221; on its Confirmed App. &#8220;The Confirmed App reimagined how products are purchased with its safe, anti-bot raffle system,&#8221; the complaint said.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" onerror=\"this.src='https:\/\/www.snkrsday.com\/files\/2023\/12\/404-dead-image.jpg'\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1068321 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.snkrsday.com\/files\/2022\/06\/14C01C68-FDA7-46E4-8A9B-0D6468C0C357-500x500.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.snkrsday.com\/files\/2022\/06\/14C01C68-FDA7-46E4-8A9B-0D6468C0C357-500x500.jpeg 500w, https:\/\/www.snkrsday.com\/files\/2022\/06\/14C01C68-FDA7-46E4-8A9B-0D6468C0C357-750x750.jpeg 750w, https:\/\/www.snkrsday.com\/files\/2022\/06\/14C01C68-FDA7-46E4-8A9B-0D6468C0C357-275x275.jpeg 275w, https:\/\/www.snkrsday.com\/files\/2022\/06\/14C01C68-FDA7-46E4-8A9B-0D6468C0C357-768x768.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.snkrsday.com\/files\/2022\/06\/14C01C68-FDA7-46E4-8A9B-0D6468C0C357-200x200.jpeg 200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This new lawsuit follows <a href=\"https:\/\/www.snkrsday.com\/nike-requests-international-trade-commission-to-block-adidas-primeknit-sneakers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nike&#8217;s request to block imports of adidas&#8217; Primeknit sneakers<\/a> alleging that 49 of adidas&#8217; shoes that use Primeknit infringe on six Nike patents.
