June marks the start of LGBTQ+ Pride Month and Vans celebrates with a capsule dedicated to self expression. The Vans Off-The-Wall Pride Gallery Collection showcases photography from three global artists, which in turn inspires a footwear and apparel collection. The gallery features Sara Lorusso, Kaitlin Chan, and Ashley Lukashevsky.

Based in Milan, Sara Lorusso calls upon her friends to provide her with a lipstick-stained kiss prints that appear on the Vans Classic Slip-On. The off-white upper also features names and “LOVE CAN SAVE US” printed on the sidewall. Lorusso’s photography appears on the insole of the shoe.

The Vans Authentic gets honored by both Kaitlin Chan and Ashley Lukashevsky. Hailing from Hong Kong, Chan honors traditional Chinese imagery and design elements to give queer representation to the Chinese community. Her Vans Authentic centers around the theme of “Chosen Family,” which is seen on both the sneaker and the apparel. The concept of “Chosen Family” is central in the LGBTQ+ community that represents the family or close-ones that queer identities choose as a support network. Based in Los Angeles, Lukashevsky chooses to speak on her sexuality and cultural identity. Her Vans Authentic design combines a graphic print with embroidery to add intensity to an all-white upper.

All three of these artists are also featured on the apparel collection. Chan designed an elaborate Drill Chore Coat that comes to life with intricate embroidered art. Lorusso and Lukashevsky provide the collection with an assortment of tees that feature their artwork and photography. With motifs like “Angels Have No Gender” and “Love Can Save Us” — you can make a statement that speaks your truth.
